Area 88/U.N. Squadron [SFC/SNES]

Post by Perikles »

Thought I might as well open a separate thread for the SFC/SNES version of this game.

One credit only. I'd be more than happy to create different tables for higher difficulty settings, feel free to post your Hard/Gamer achievements if you have them. :)

Please submit your scores like this:

Name – Score – Stage – Pilot

Normal:

Code: Select all

    Name Score Stage Pilot
1. Perikles 920,000 ALL Greg
2.
3.
4.
5.
Gamer:

Code: Select all

    Name Score Stage Pilot
1. pegboy 641,400 ALL Shin
2.
3.

My run on Gamer difficulty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXW5xI1qnBc

Wasn't trying to score/milk convoys or anything (very boring), so the score isn't nearly as high as it could be. I was just going for a 1CC. I'm sure I could score much higher and not even beat the game, since the scoring isn't very well thought out in this game.

I saw your video the other day, very exciting to watch, so many close calls and clutch moments! :) You're definitely right about the grindy nature of scoring in this game, unfortunately this is the case for quite a few shooters during the time period. Awesome replays like yours justify a thread like this, though.

Wow thanks! UN Squadron was one of my favorite shmups as a kid, it's nice to see people still appreciate and play it after all these years.
