Well, in fact it's my plan to wait for that CPU upgrade while I take some time to install a 64bit SO instead my current 32bit one, for they say it can bring up to +30% performance depending on the situation, and current cv1k emulation status, as you well said, err... you know... sucks, or at least it sucks enough as to not justify a freaking i5 + new mobo + new DDR3 RAM dimms after having already overclocked my current CPU (original 3 GHz).

The bad news is that I just cannot play Mushi since it's region-locked (it's Futari 1.5 + 1.01 + BL what I have) unless I buy that crap of PS2 port which shares quality with the Ibara you mention. I have DDPDOJ and ESPGaluda for PS2 but alas! MAME emulates them now almost perfectly... *sigh*

Thanks anyway for your suggestions!

Still, who cannot live without playing Ibara ?
It's all about the fan service as everybody knows...

(Actually I like the PS2 arrange of Ibara. It's fun and bearable on a crt. :P )

Yes, going 64bit might be enough of an upgrade, it's something I plan to try in the near future as well.
The difference in performance between slowpoke and 0.153 was of about 10% or 15% IIRC...

It is quite fun! Mr. Yagawa would not be pleased though Im sure as it makes the game tremendously easier.

I did some performance tests on some of the alterations made to sh4.c and cv1k.c between 0.154 and newest and the impression I got was one step forward two steps back. mame64 mushisam -bench 60 is a very useful function for seeing obvious non-placebo differences in performance between versions.

With this being said, apparently the code changes helps pave way for making a dynamic recompiler for the SH4 cpu less painful should R.Belmont, the one person who's cited any interest in doing such a thing, go ahead with it.

There are no dumps of DFKBL available anywhere tho.

However, this thing was added a few days ago thanks to "Burning Ranger + Bicycle Repairman"

Laziest international version ever I think ;-)

Might be late to the party but all of those SH3 roms that use to have a bunch of slowdown actually play now. I must admit, it's kind of amazing. Can't wait to try the original Mushi.

I did my good deed of buying all of the cave shmups for the american 360, aside from Galuda II. I should probably buy that one too anyway.

And our "Good Samaritan" actions were all for naught, because Cave ended up bowing out of the arcade and console markets while jettisoning all their talent, anyway.

I know. I'm somewhat of a collector, so I like owning titles. What can ya do? Just glad to have a few more games to play that I couldn't before. Given the difficulty and depth of these games, I'll have something to play for years on end.

Wasn't this pretty much found by one dude with the PCB? I remember a thread about this. Did he dump it? Good if he did.

It's an international version of Futari Black Label for non-Japanese Asian markets.

Yeah, with very tiny strange changes, like stage 1 boss having less HP. That wasn't the only change, or was it?
That's pretty rare PCB though; I remember it only being reported on the internet once (Here, on this forum) , as it wasn't actually released internationally.

I think the only place anyone saw it for sale was a shop in Hong Kong, maybe Legend. I think there might be less HP on other bosses too. Probably nobody really knows all the changes though, for sure, not yet.

This reminds me of this weird Futari i was playing in Osaka in 2010 which had autobombing.

I was asking on Cave-STG but nobody really new anything about a version like this.

INTERNATIONAL BL work nice. UME 0.156 here.

btw, SH3 slowdowns are good and without blitter options.
This is noticed someone else besides me?
Very playable. 1CC after long break, first attempt (without blitter options)...

I haven't played this, but didn't they not even bother to translate the endings? Sure is international.

Thanks I wasn't looking the right place, strange this is not found in the release readme, whatever.
Also I don't know what they mean by 'detangle' the speedups, but heh, nice to know they did work on the driver anyway. ^^

so, i just tried (and succeed) a quick 1CC on DAIFUKKATSU ume 0.156

comparing with 0.151, i feel the entire game runs slower (not only during the "slowdown moments", but during all game long)
i felt all the bullets came to me just a little bit slower than in 0.151
i can't compare with the xbox360 version because i didn't play it since august 2013 and i don't own it anymore...

I will wait for your reviews, you CAVE maniacs :D

edit : futari 1.5 on ume 0.156 = missing slowdowns there and there, more than with slowpoke

Hello,
Since cv1k came back officially in mame (more than 1 yean now), there wasn't much love from developers to optimize the driver and make sh3 emulation as good as older cave games like dodonpachi. Is there a technical or political reason for this ?

OK, so which is the best MAME version for DoDonPachi Dai-Fukkatsu? One with a UI would be nice.

Both.

Doesn't matter as the driver is the same. MAMEUI or MAME Plus should suffice.

That's weird. The lastest MAME Plus I had recently downloaded doesn't even show it in the All Games list, yet supports nmk004. Just downloaded the latest MAMEUI per your advice and it's there, but why can't I change resolution size? Latest MAMEUI and no option to change resolution size, I don't get it? Looks like I won't be touching MAMEUI anymore if they're going to remove features. Otherwise, if someone knows a MAMEPlus version that lists the second last Dondonpachi game, could you please post it here to save me some time. Thanks in advance.
