Horrible, stay away. Talk to someone about getting a custom and just get some modded sticks. (I actually might have a set of sanwa modded DC agetecs for supergun for sale for 220 for the pair)

yeah im new to this and want to get a good supergun and a ST-V board and of course RS, and some other favorites.

also i have a saturn with RS is the PCB version a huge difference? as far as i was told the Sat was based ons ST-V hardware hence all the ports

oh yeah what about MAS systems supergun, any good?

MAS is basically the same shit, really try to avoid the consumer superguns unless they're from japan (MAK, Raijin, etc). You want something that basically gives you component or S-video at lowest (straight RGB is best because some boards won't work without variable verticle scan capability. Controllers like I said would be best to get modded sticks or custom sticks, hell even modded saturn pads are better than those horrible MAS sticks.

You can build one yourself if your so inclined and save a chunk of change. It's pretty confusing at first, but I'm currently getting the hang of everything and I've spent about 100 bucks for everything including a 19 inch rgb monitor.

Contact someone about making you on via the boards here or at neo-geo.com

And to answer your question about RSG, in one word NO. If you have the saturn version you bascially have the best version as you get the arcade game and all the extras, remember the ST-V is basically a Saturn for the arcade (Titan is one of Saturn's moons) and IIRC came out along side the Saturn or after.

I bought one of those things. I am now afraid to use it with my pcbs.

The positive thing I can say about the supergun is that the joysticks are nice. Thats about it as far as good things go.

When I first got it, none of my cave pcbs would produce any sound. According to the seller there was nothing wrong with the super gun, all of my pcbs were defective. I took two pcbs to a friend's place to plug in his cab and the sound worked perfectly.

I paid someone who rewire the sound system and the gun worked fine for a while. When playing Ibara, the sound cut out and stopped working with that pcb. The sound on the pcb completely died. I am not sure if the pcb was defective or if the supergun fried the pcb. I must admit that my DOJ pcb has no troubles at all with the re-wired supergun. In any case, I am not going to be playing Espgaluda II with my supergun.

Where are you getting your Sigma from? (Say -- are you Zeograd that wrote the PC-Engine emulator?)

I'd recommend as much for zlk as well...especially w/ ESPGaluda II.

yeah just checked the ship its 70 for 2-3 day priority, only thing that sucks is i have to pay tax because i live in New York and thats where they are from as well

Well, in Japan, the Rajin sells for about 25,000 to 30,000 yen, and the Blast City runs about 50,000 yen. So, there's quite a bit of markup there. I'm not sure what shipping would run, but EMS would probably be somewhere in the $70 range for either, and that's from Japan. I would say those are not very good deals.

You might want to wait for used ones to pop up on Yahoo Japan and use a surrogate bidding service.

Gaijin, got a few questions, will these things run on 4:3 tv's and is there an option for tate, is voltage in the states an issue? also how do i navigate yahoo jp and a buying service i have no idea how to understand Japanese

one more thing, are all pcbs like Neo and ST-V you can swap carts, lets say i like cave games is each pcb integrated meaning i will need a different one for each game

The 'tate option' is you rotate your TV.

You don't need one for each 'integrated' PCB. You just swap the PCBs.

The PCBs are attached to the Jamma harness, so as zakk said, you swap them out. These work kind of like cartridges to a console. There is no TATE option. The PCBs are either yoko, or tate. All superguns that I know of run on 4:3 TV's... assuming you can flip it over.

Be warned that there is no standard resolution for PCBs... or even hardware. Ketsui fits just fine on my TV...even has an inch or so to spare at the top. However, playing ESPGaluda or ESPGaluda II, I can't see the score w/o fidgeting w/ the vertical align (sucks).

As for navigating YJ... survival level written Japanese definitely helps. I can PM you some bookmarks that will help though. As for the bidding services, I understand Shopping Mall Japan has great customer service. You should ask other members here (Dave K and undamned come to mind) how good they are, and how it works... but I'm sure it's self explanatory. The fees add up quick, but for something that's like $300, you're only adding like $30 to $50 in fees. Not as bad as buying some thing for $20, then another $15 in fees.

At the moment, none of these firms will buy out of shops for you. Apparently akibado will though. I've only heard of one person using them, but he was very pleased. If you'd rather go this route, you can get an AV7000 (super gun) and 9000TB (controller w/ Seimitsu parts) for 31,290 yen. The Jamma harness is another 3500 yen. You could even throw in another 4,000 yen and get a cable to play the controller on your PS/PS2. This is the setup I have, and I love it. Your minimal working setup there is about 34,500 yen. The shipping for both items will be around $60. So, you're looking at about $400 there -- it's a tops unit though, and I recommend it.

check out those sites and add it all up to see what it comes up to. I'm sure akibado is a much better choice than Akiba games, as they're basically ordering it from a similar shop for a very jacked up price. The yen is weak now, so $800 USD is like 88,000 yen. That's too fucking much.

I may or may not be going to Japan in a month or so. I'd do it most likely cheaper than akibado, but can't guarantee that I'm going, so don't count on that. (Depends on work and the wife).

I'm getting my Sigma from a collector I've traded with in the past, and he's got loads of game boards also, so I might buy a few from him !

A bit pricey but in the end it might just be worth it if you can't order it from Japan.

You can always use the currency calculator at Yahoo Finnace to find it's current value. If it finishes under 30,000 yen, I think it's a great deal.

It's apparently a pretty solid gun, but the button layout is not the same as standard arcade layout, and personally, I don't like the 2-playerness of it. Too bulky for my tastes.

I will be in Japan next month if you want help getting them. We're not getting any miles or anything, so I'm already about $1k over budget -- looking for ways to even it out, w/o having to do too much work.
