Connecting a guncon without the adapter
Connecting a guncon without the adapter
So, I just got a guncon 1 delivered this morning and it didn't come with the adapter thing. I've had a look on ebay and the adapters alone seem to go for more than I paid for the actual guncon, however I think there is a way of connecting it using a certain type of wire, anyone know what that is?
Re: Connecting a guncon without the adapter
You need a breakout box for the AV multi out. I think Sony called it an AV Adaptor. The one in the picture is black but the one I have is Playstation Gray.

It will work with the PS2 (and 3?). It's also good for stereo out for use with a RGB cable.
It will probably run you $10-15 on eBay.

Re: Connecting a guncon without the adapter
that's the adapter I was on about, for whatever reason on uk ebay they're all around £10. which seems a lot considering I got my boxed guncon for 1p plus postage! as I said I'm sure there is just a generic wire you can use to do the same thing, but I will probably end up buying one of the ps1 av multi outs.

You're really complaining about $16?Immryr wrote:that's the adapter I was on about, for whatever reason on uk ebay they're all around £10. which seems a lot considering I got my boxed guncon for 1p plus postage! as I said I'm sure there is just a generic wire you can use to do the same thing, but I will probably end up buying one of the ps1 av multi outs.

haha, yeah I guess I am.

Yeah, I don't think you are going to find one for cheaper unless you get lucky or buy a lot auction with a bunch of accessories and get it included.
I thought you meant that yours didn't come with the NAMCO version. There is a similar breakout that NAMCO themselves sold. It doesn't have the full composite breakout and is a much smaller box with just the yellow video port. It seems like it would be harder to find than the SONY one.

It's a little more compact but it lacks the benefits of providing stereo breakout for use with RGB cables, so overall I'd go for the SONY one.
