Hot damn. I'd say you're pretty much set for the rest of your days.AKRATEN wrote: a RGB modded Famicom twin , a Xrgb Framemeister and a Everdrive N8
That is correct you can play nes games on the famicom.shmuppyLove wrote:Maybe a stupid question -- with the Everdrive N8, can you play any region games on the Famicom?
You're very welcome buddy!AKRATEN wrote:

I totally Agree!drauch wrote:Now we're talkin'! So worth it on so many levels. Dracula-x on an RGB PC-Engine is enough to make a grown man break down and cry for joy. Every time I boot it up I get chills and fall in love all over again. <3
Looks far better on a CRT than that pixelated XRGB mess aboveAKRATEN wrote:I totally Agree!drauch wrote:Now we're talkin'! So worth it on so many levels. I have never seen the pc engine look so crisp!
I think it looks really nice and I find the pixelated look to be a part of the games charm.niall wrote:Looks far better on a CRT than that pixelated XRGB mess aboveAKRATEN wrote:I totally Agree!drauch wrote:Now we're talkin'! But all of the fine detail is gone - electron beams vary in width as well as colour, so an XRGB is effectively rounding all of this sub-pixel detail to whole-pixel values. We're not going to start approaching CRT level detail until at least 8k resolution.pixeljunkie wrote:Hahah The only people that don't love the shit out of xrgb's are people without them. I've always sworn by CRT's...until I got a framemeister. NEVER going back. Those PCE screens look borderline sexual.

2160p is a multiple of 720p so once these new "4K" panels have XRGB support @60Hz then you'll see an improvement, but if you grab a BVM and side-by-side it you'll understand what you are missing out on.

Agree to disagree, you are basically comparing vinyl to CD's - it's all preference. And rather than care for those "nuances" such as variable width electron beams and refresh rates. I prefer to marvel at perfect geometry, sharp, vivid colors and clarity/contrast that cuts my eyeballs to shreds. But I agree, there is nothing quite as nostalgic as good old CRTs flickering A/B fields at me as well. It's like vinyl - it will always have it's charm.niall wrote:But all of the fine detail is gone - electron beams vary in width as well as colour, so an XRGB is effectively rounding all of this sub-pixel detail to whole-pixel values. Well these games were designed to be displayed on analogue CRTs, not digital panels, so it's more than just player preference - it's what the Developers actually intended you to seepixeljunkie wrote:Agree to disagree, you are basically comparing vinyl to CD's - it's all preference. Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I got both in the same deal after CIT kindly pointed them out, helluva steal.Ex_Mosquito wrote:Heh I picked up a couple of Gameboy games as well even though I don't actually own one anymore.. there is a reason though. I used to own these 2 on Japanese import when I was a young teenager and when it came to my attention recently that they were on Ebay for £8 *BRAND NEW* I bought them back for pure nostalgia. They were also 2 of my fav Gameboy games which is handy
