Naive question here, do I still get it for ~free~ if I already have Ultimate?

An abhorrent looking Chinese-developed, mobile-exclusive "HD" "remake" of KOF 97 is inbound. Remakes of Samurai Spirits 2 and Metal Slug 2 will follow. And yes, the sprites will be redrawn, but in the worst possible way one could expect. At least this will not taint the Japanese or Western markets.

SNKP is becoming more and more like Million (current rights holders of the Double Dragon series), in that they'll shamelessly license out their most beloved IPs to be exploited by absolutely anyone who's willing to pay enough for them. Those legal defense fund fees for their tussle with Square-Enix aren't going to pay themselves, though.

Street Fighter V is happening. Only 1 day after the port release of GGXrd. Exclusive to PS4 and PC.
The trailer was available until a few moments ago, but now it's private. Sasuga Capcom!

I actually freaking love it.
It looks like more detailed and serious SF4 in terms of appeal, just as I guessed it would be

Calling it now, Sony's moneyhat only applies to this iteration of the game and Super SFV will be on Xbox One.

Also predicting that the game will be freemium with a retail option.

There's no way the SF5 series won't come to every platform under the sun eventually. Still, I'd say it was a smart moneyhat for Sony. SF5 isn't going to sell an enormous amount of copies, but it will ensure that the fighting game community moves over to the PS4 en masse. It might not be so smart for Capcom, though, since it's only going to limit the potential playerbase.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I'm just really really hoping Dan will be in SFV (as if my avatar wasn't a big enough hint hehehe). Dan is what got me back into fightan games, I've had a blast playing SFIV with Dan.

Ughh, that SFV trailer was like watching a goddamn baseball commercial. So bathetically sentimental and inspirational. BARF.

Why am I not surprised... copy and paste as usual Capcom.

I was hoping the characters would all be re-done some how... maybe I was spoiled by the huge leap Street Fighter III made back in the days.

When Street Fighter III came out there were only a few old returning characters. You had a massive change in the cast and it was different.

The trailer looked like an HD version of IV

The game is 3D just like Street Fighter IV!
Holy shit what a remake, damn you capcom!

I mean seriously, what are you expecting? 4D? Realistic as hell graphics of modern FPS shooters? (that would NEVER work with SF)
What the hell are you expecting? I'm seriously curious. This is literally the only direction they could've gone. It doesn't even look like SFIV, other than it is 3D. It's much more detailed and flashy.

I'm eagerly waiting for answers Shelcoof. (and everyone else calling this a "remake" or "copy-paste")
What were their possibilities in choosing an art direction? Go back to 2D sprites?

The trailer also had a Cero rating at the beginning, so it might only apply to Japan?

I just hope it's a better game than SFIV was. Faster walk speeds, one-button throws and less vortex bullshit, please.

The Xbox One isn't selling at all in Japan. Like, not in the slightest. Something tells me this isn't even a moneyhat, especially if this is the Japan-only trailer. There's zero point in even making copies of the Xbone version [if one happens at all] for Japan.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Seems my theory was wrong, as it appears the XB1 won't be seeing this one, at least at first...they're also going the Portal 2 route and allowing cross-platform multiplayer between PS4 and PC.

Also, a trailer with a bit more gameplay footage.

Something Tekken something

Also wow can they just drop this aesthetic style. It looked ugly as sin before and now it actually interferes with visibility since I can't tell where the characters are anymore.

Also for those who missed it, looks like Sony are co-developing this one meaning it's not a moneyhat in the cynical form of the Tomb Raider one.

Damn... looks like Yun and Yang's Stage from Double Impact.

Honestly at this point I'm just hoping it does not feel like SF IV... :)

I think the trailer also had a guard break. The only thing I don't like so far are the destructible environments. Hopefully you'll be able to toggle that on/off. The rest of the changes don't bother me, but it's really too early to tell how well it will all fit together.

Sony is helping fund the development of SF5 and MS is helping fund the development of Tomb Raider. I'm sure Capcom and Square-Enix took those deals because it reduces the risk involved (remember, SE considered the previous TR game a failure despite selling millions of copies). The only difference between them is that Sony can say that the PS4 is the only console SF5 will ever appear on because by the time it comes to Xbone, it will be called Super SF5.

Not the case. SFV was not yet on the cards at all. Tomb Raider was already *in development* for all platforms. It wasn't brought to a select group, it was taken away from one.

Tekken 7's awful new character.
"we want the DOA audience"
At least, they're aiming for the same people who bought Marie Rose for entirely non-gameplay reasons.

Stage destruction and transitions are things that have been in SF games before, although nothing like the little sign bit in the background [which was neat]. That being said, the rest of the things are a bit worrying. I don't want SF to become Marvel now, heh.
also, the characters are a bit hard to make out from the background with that lighting

Ahahahahaaaa Harada did it. I will take anything that sends the secondary crowd into a riot.

EDIT: But yeah I thought this was the secret DOA5LR character.
