Factory Reset PVM and now wont turn on.

Post by meLisCha »

Hoping you can help me.
First time poster. I recently purchased a Sony PVM 2053md medical monitor, after hooking up my Famicom by composite I noticed the whites were yellow, I then noticed that the menu text was also yellow.
I presumed (maybe stupidly) the text was meant to be white. After trying to find the manual with no luck I bought the manual, which you can now download from my google drive, here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwHTe2 ... sp=sharing
I (once again maybe stupidly) decided to do a factory reset. To cut a long story short, I did a factory reset, the monitor turned off and now it wont turn on. Nothing.
Massively appreciate some help. the rgb wires are in the post and I now have nothing to use them on.

edit** If it's any help, after it's been unplugged for 10mins or so, I do hear I slight buzz for a split second when I turn it on again.

well, I'm a PVM virgin. I'm English but live in Thailand and PVM's are hard to find over here, it involves a lot of scouring the streets of Bangkok, checkin out TV repair shops and the odd hospital and school.
After 2 years, I finally find one and my OCD of everything has to be as good as it can be seems to of left me with a brick..
The voice in the back of me head was sayin don't factory reset it.
Me OCD got the better of me. :(

The menu text is supposed to be white, but you could probably have worked this out easily by adjusting the RGB gain values. Of course not much of help now...

It doesn't exactly help either that the portion about factory resets in the service manual seems to be translated poorly. Maybe you did something wrong, like turning off the set while writing the settings, and wound up with a corrupt ROM?

Basically I factory reset it, I saw the text color change to purple for a split second and then it turned its self off.
