I need a vacation... Ideas?

Post by Vexorg »

Actually, let me rephrase that. I've got a vacation, I just have no idea what to do with it. The situation is this: I've been given a certificate good for a free round trip to anywhere United flies in the Continental US, but I have to travel by the 26th of this month or it will expire. I will probably be able to go somewhere for a long weekend (3, possibly 4 days) but I haven't really got any idea where to go. My first thought was either New York or DC, but heading for the Northeast in the middle of winter doesn't sound like such a great idea on further consideration. The other thing I thought of was Las Vegas, but that can get a little expensive (I wouldn't mind going to give myself a valid excuse to swear off poker though...) I think I'd probably like to stick to warmer climates, and preferably places with lots of stuff to see and do. Given those parameters, does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere to go for a short vacation around this time of year?

I don't travel too much, but when you mentioned "vacation spot" and "warm" the first place I thought of was Florida, just off the top of my head...kinda cliche though, heh heh.

Yeah, get as far away from the cold as you possibly can.

Ahhh...I hear the air is quite "misty" there this time of year.

I've heard about that place... Seems like the type of place you'd go to get lost in a book or something.
