Good price for PS1 Bokan Ippatsu?...

Seems pretty cheap, especially for the seller.

I just wish I could find some screenshots of this game-I found some of Bokandesuyo, and the graphical style really appeals to me! I wonder if you can skip through the anime sequences in the game, though.

I played it on Saturn and found it lacklustre at best.

I would give it 4/10. There are much better examples on the PS1.

It runs 500 yen in Japan -- he's making 200% on his money if it sells it for that... minus the fees of course.

Yeah, I'd definitely try to pick up Einhander, Thunder Force V, DoDonPachi, Parodius series, and some others. :) Raycrisis, and Raystorm are decent too, although I don't technically have mine anymore.

The game is good... a bit annoying in the later stages, but the graphics are nice and cartoony, with good special effects. I'd recommend buying it if it costs under $15.

I enjoyed the game, it's somewhat better than Bokandesuyoo. If you're a Time Bokan fan, definitely play it.

However, Bokan to Ippatsu was released as "The Best" budget, so you can probably find cheaper than that. And notice the seller says the disc has been polished.

I've always found that seller to be way too expensive. Despite some of the nice titles he's often got in stock I've never been tempted to purchase from him. I also find his international payment & shipping policy rather unflexible.

20 bucks isn't too bad, but according to the description you're dealing with a polished disc, so the condition's not that great...if you don't care about condition it's not an awful deal.

For the record, I'm one of the few who actually likes the Bokan games...not the Best Shmups Ever, but if you just want to sit down for a bit and enjoy some silliness and wanton destruction (c'mon, you know you've wanted to play as the bad guys for once!) without expecting perfection, I think they're pretty enjoyable.

Yeah, I'd rather not buy a polished disc. I've never seen any of the anime, I was attracted to Bokandesuyo by the screenshots I saw of it. So, Bokan Ippatsu is similar in terms of the way the graphics look, and the gameplay? I know that Bokandesuyo is vehicular-based; I read a comparison, in that regard, between it and SWIV.

Carlson is not the cheapest seller on the planet but you can wait him out on practically all his merchandise. I just waited him out on Crows The Battle Action and got it used but good condition for $65.

Plus, the guy has the best service on ebay, in my opinion.

The first Bokan game is pretty similar to Desu Yo, with a few differences...the latter has 9 vehicles available at the start, with 1 more you get partway through the "special game" (basically an extended version of the normal game), while the original starts you with 6 and gives you 3 more; the weaponry for each vehicle's a bit different in the two games as well. Both games give you unlimited "bomb" weapons, but the first game includes a "combo" scoring gimmick, wherein you get extra points if you nail lots o' enemies with a single bomb; Desu Yo, on the other hand, gives you the ability to hold onto a bomb for a few seconds to power it up before releasing it, but does away with the combo thingy. Finally, the first Bokan has a high score save; the latter, for some reason, doesn't. :?

There are a few other differences too, but those are the major ones I can think of offhand. I've played relatively little of SWIV, but Bokan is a bit more "traditional" than it is, in terms of none of the vehicles having a rotating turret or anything like that...there are a few obstacles and such to avoid, but in most levels it's nothing major, IIRC.
