What I don't understand is, why is doing the damn research so fucking hard? If you're going to invest countless hours designing and programming a game, the least you could do is play some other games, discuss game design with people who know the genre, take constructive criticism, etc.
I mean, if I was going to make a racing game, you can be damn sure I'd at least fucking play a few before getting to work.

Instead I am stuck in the America's where women rule with an iron crotch, and a man could get arrested for sitting behind a computer too long.

Doesn't sound like it was worth it. That's a shame. It'd really be nice to see this kind of artistic attention to visual detail paired with someone who actually knows how to use the assets to make a good game. I mean, Blue Wish Resurrection is a fine doujin to play, but the art is really ugly lowres prerendered shit and I totally wouldn't mind seeing more shmups with really solid visuals. But they gotta be fun to play, or it's just not worth it to pay for the visuals alone.
If it was that bland to play, how could you stand to loop the game six times? o_o

Dunno, I tend to play things longer than I should sometimes.
There are only two backgrounds, day and night. There are no level design differences between the two and no bosses. If we count them as separate stages each loop is around 5 minutes long.
