Help with X-Flat Service Mode...No Sound

Post by evil_ash_xero »

OK, so I went into the service mode to adjust colors. I did that, and like with my Sony, I attempted to save it to memory. Obviously I was reading the PDF wrong, as it said "Holding down both the VOL-up and CH-up buttons on the TV set at service mode for more than 2 seconds will automatically write the above initial values into IC2101."

What I didn't recognize, is that it meant the original settings. Untouched. Like, I think before they fiddled with it in the factory.

So, I had to adjust the size of the screen, and all that stuff.

However, I have no sound whatsoever. There is a slight hum, but when I did the above thing, the sound on component and composite input went out. I don't know about RF.

If anyone who has any knowledge of this kind of thing, can look over this PDF, and see what in service mode I can do to get my sound back, I would appreciate it. What a headache.

Download and look through the service manual and all the settings should be there. The X-Flats are great SDTV's.

Have you checked the regular menu and checked the FAO option in the sound section? This mutes the audio and sends a line level signal to the "out" jacks on the back of the TV for use with a stereo receiver.

Yep. I have checked that out.

When I turn the speakers off, there is no hum.
