照準展開...波動ガン!!
Thanks a bunch for the warm welcome back. It's nice to be back, and my...a lot has changed-in a good way.
During the transition, a lot of shit has gone down.
Let's see...the biggest change is that I had to leave Japan. I'm in sunny San Diego now. While it's good to be home again, it kinda sucks to be in a spot where arcades are pretty much dead, aside from the DDR/PIU games, and recycled Capcom fighters, to name a few. Now I don't feel ashamed at all having my robust PCB collection. I think my wife understands why I bought that Ibara board now.
It's a bit of a culture shock being back, but it's a HUGE change for my wife since she's never lived on the West coast before. THAT is an adventure in itself. (What would you think if someone told you that 75F is cold?)
All games aside, I'm enjoying what I can. If things go right, I might be back in Japan next Winter.
Also, my father-in-law passed away in May. (the day after my birthday), so that too has thrown our schedules for a loop-especially since she has to travel to Tokyo often. Even though I wasn't around for the more difficult period, I can still feel the gloom and the sadness.
My dive into MMOs are another reason for a lot of my time away. The main two I'm in are WoW (of course-nurf the shamenz), and CoH. I'm still fairly new to the drama in WoW and have been rockin in CoH. (tidbit: some of my CoH designs are based on my older shooter concept characters). Since I've taken a break from both (I only have a laptop at the moment), I thought I'd get back into the groove of shmups. Who would have thought that there'd be an EspGaluda machine in Cali?!
I guess I can chalk up the rest to just utter laziness on my behalf. I faded out when the old forums were peakin' with the drama and many migrated over to Click-Stick. I poked around here for a bit, just never reg'd until now. Sorry about that. For those that don't know, I do mod over at the snk-capcom forums, so you can imagine that I spend a great deal of my time there.
Hmmm...what else...Oh! If things go right, I should be able to go back to Japan in February (in time for the AOU show!!). MAYBE I can get a peek at that Ibara upgrade and such.
I guess that's enough of a ramble from me. If I knock myself out from running into too many walls, just leave me there. I'll eventually find my way around again.
Thanks again.

I remember you talking about the move. 75F is cold? Sounds like you had to move to Hawaii... something I know all too well.
Anyways, yeah, the move sucks. People have been hearing me moan about it for a while, but being forced to move to Honolulu (or even San Diego I'm sure) isn't going to draw too much sympathy.
Anyways, welcome back.

I wonder if everyone who has disappeared is playing WoW right now. That game has disappeared many people I know already. I hear from some of them after months, and it's just to rant about WoW (I hate that.)
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"

I'm far from that. I'm still a n00b-chan. I'll never become one of those folks who trip because I don't have 15 Epic items.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:I wonder if everyone who has disappeared is playing WoW right now. Hey Eight! Did you take your Mini Cutes with you when you moved to SD?
I'm planning on going to Japan again this spring, and Undamned _might_ be coming with me. I was hoping we'd hook up with you in Tokyo, but I guess that won't be happening.

Undamned is the leading English-speaking expert on the consolized UD-CPS2 because he's the one who made it.
