Going to be streaming some Crimzon Clover kusoplay over on http://www.twitch.tv/degigames in about twenty minutes. If you get bored, come over and watch me try to remember how to score in Novice Mode =).

Revolver 360.
Just found out about this game yesterday. It's pretty fun and the presentation is really cool. Unfortunately it seems really easy (I reached the second boss on my third try I think, and there are only 4 stages).

Been going through a sega phase so I've been playing a lot of Thunder Force IV, Gaiares, SubTerrania, and Steel Empire on the genny and some Mars Matrix and Sturmwind on the dreamcast (and under defeat on my 360). Also been playing a little Batrider, Bakraid, and Garegga on MAME.

Playing Crimzon Clover, which got me interested in playing some more shmups. Working toward a 1cc of R-type Leo. Such soothing electronic music while spaceships try to murder your face.

R-Type Leo is fun. The last stage takes a fairly nasty jump in difficulty, especially at the section with the jumping mechs. Hardest part in the game, IMO.

Been grinding Espgaluda for the last week. Either this game's not as easy as people seem to say or I'm just not cut out for shmups  Changed to Ageha and now at least I comfortably (more or less) make it passed the half boss on the third stage but there I get whopped :?

Gone back to Ibara arrange. Great game, slightly frustrating but really fun! I can make stage 5 but can't score for shit, always drop my medals... :?

EDIT: switched to daioujou black label, for the first time I made the stage 5 mid boss on a single credit. Always used to give up after getting murdered by the stage 3 boss. It's still brutally hard but for the first time it feels fun and possible... Eventually!

Been trying out A City Sleeps (Steam). Pretty fun game and the synchronization of everything with the music is very cool. Scoring system works surprisingly well for what it is (enemy chaining). There's some inertia on movement which is a big minus though. Not sure if it's present when using analog controls.

Starting to play a bit of HellSinker (PC) again with the intention of getting a good Extra 1 score (13k maybe). Never played the stage much so should be fun. I'm so bad at this now

How many stages are there? I just rolled this in the Operation Quickening thread and it certainly is fun. I'm tempted to put some time in and try to beat it. Didn't see anything too difficult in the first four stages.

I just recently found out about the Marisa-Alice cannon in Imperishable Night. It's amazing how fast Keine and Reimu fall to this, quality of life improved 110%, except for my wrists.

Five stages. The game is actually pretty reasonable in terms of difficulty, but because you get no extends at all (and checkpoints in the Japanese version) so you don't have much room for error. The stage 4 boss is a fairly gigantic difficulty jump. The laser grid section of level 5 is pretty nasty too. The final boss is actually pretty easy as long as you use the green weapon, though (it helps deal with the crap he fires during the second form). The tough part is reaching it.

That stock techno song as the title music and otherwise unfulfilled BGM does not help it.

Started playing Aero Blasters (MD version) again. Someone really needs to hack out the stupid and needless inertia in stages 4 and 5. The screen is already cluttered as fuck in both of these stages and you have to deal with your ship flailing around everywhere. Once you get to the stage 5 boss, controls return to normal and the game becomes enjoyable again. I'm still trying to figure out how anyone thought this was a good idea.

Been playing a bit of Muchi Muchi Pork version 1.00 instead of 1.01 on a different account. Current best is around 90 million game overing on the stage 5 boss because I screw up too much. 1-All on 1.00 and 1.01 doesn't really seem any different in difficulty to me, though the looping requirement difficulty is insane compared to 1.01's. I don't remember what exactly my score was at the end of loop 1 in 1.01, but obviously I expect it to be a little lower in 1.00.

I have strategies at the moment that allow me to No Miss No Bomb up to the stage 3 boss, though usually I mess up and die/bomb somewhere. At that point I pretty much die/bomb because I don't have a good strategy for the boss. I can currently no miss no bomb stage 4 up to the first midboss, but I have huge issues with both midbosses and the stuff after them. And Stage 5, I'll grind that once I'm decent at the first 4.

Just picked up Samidare again after a break of a week or so (and not spending too much time on it all together), last night, got a little bit of quality practice on stage 2 and the boss, and I finally made it to stage 3 in a full run today! Holy hell is that second stage endboss tough. 3rd stage looks to hike up the difficulty even more.

Hey everyone. Long day at work. I'm going to be running a relaxation shmup stream in about 10 minutes and liveplaying the brand new touhou-like demo "Sense of the Seasons" as well as some other stuff (probably Crimzon and maybe Kiwami if I'm feeling masochistic).

Not an official stream, so I'll be loitering on my blackbird channel: http://www.twitch.tv/blackbirdhm/profile

Giga Wing.

I've not had much time to play recently and what time I have had I've spent flitting between games, played a few credits of this - which then turned into more credits, now I'm stuck on it. Definitely gonna try to make it my next clear.

More Muchi Muchi Pork 1.00 . I want to figure out how to loop this thing.

Grinding stages 4 and 5 in training, though I need to practice stage 3 for its boss as well. Stage 2 boss occasionally gets me, but that's early enough that I'm willing to not practice it more and just reset over it.

I just no missed Stage 5 up to the boss in Training Mode(starting with 2 bomb stock in training) but then died a bit while fighting the boss cause lack of bombs. The way I see it, I would need to have 4 or 5 bombs to be able to no miss the boss(2 on first phase, 1 or 2 on second phase, maybe 1 for 3rd phase, NMNB 4th phase). That boss, I really wish there was slowdown on it because it just feels unfair to me at the moment, but maybe there's something I'm missing with its attacks.

Of course, I still have a lot of practice to do. Stage 5 first midboss is a terrible, terrible thing that generally forces me to bomb. Stage 4 first midboss generally forces me to bomb once. And there's still a few stage parts of stage 4 and 5 that I have no idea how to NMNB yet. And that stage 4 boss is ridiculous and would likely drain a few bombs. Really need to figure out consistent strats for everything.

After so many years finally picked up Gradius Gaiden... wow... just wow. How can a game have such nice graphics, and why weren't more games like this  I guess its worth pointing out this is one of very few post-SNES console games that I've played with sprite-based graphics (not counting countless Neo*Geo/arcade ports) The only two other games that come to mind are the PS1 Dracula X (SOTN) and Odin Sphere...

Looks like you only get up to 4 full bombs in a no miss stage 5 boss attempt on Muchi Muchi Pork . 4 and 39/40 fragments. That fragment bomb could help, but I was kind of hoping you could have 5 full ones(of course Yagawa game).

That does mean that I really would need to get one of the first phases down to just 1 instead of 2. While it is possible to NMNB phase 3 by staying at the bottom during the laser attack since it is avoidable even down at the bottom and having a decent amount of damage done from having a high lard meter, it's not something I would want to rely on. The attack after the laser does not seem possible to dodge for very long so I really want a full bomb to get by that.

Stage 5 midboss 1 can be timed out to avoid the attack it does when you damage it enough that generally forces a bomb(thankfully MMP does not have those screw you attacks from timing stuff out). Maybe there's a strategy to make it consistently doable without having to time it out.

I currently pretty much have every stage part in loop 1 figured out NMNB for Rafute except for a part near the end of stage 4 and end of stage 5. Of course, the stage 3, 4, and 5 midbosses/bosses are still generally out of my ability to do that with. Of course, when I decide to actually play some runs, I then just botch all sorts of stuff that doesn't happen in practice mode.

This would be so much easier if I had some replays(2 loop arcade 1.00 BTW) I could reference, because I'm sure there's tricks I'm missing, and there's some things I could probably change to make things safer.

just today

r-type leo
prefer the force and the use of space in the original, but this more hectic revision of r-type is alright.
love that second player is girlfriend pink and the use of the forces in this one works although it remind me
of what was done in mystic riders and in the later it was a better use of the super move

pink sweets
in love with this game. need to stack my monitor on vert so i can play it with out black borders.

QP Shooting Dangerous
just got it have played a round loved the design, games doujin origins are good, but not sure on if this will satisfy.
also a little to touhou based. ok just played more and its awesome. love the touhou get closer to deal more damage mechanic,
the back shooting is cool, design is good.
