Need a good site for commercial japanaese shmups for the PC

Post by MASTER SATAN »

In case you guys didnt know there are currently some incredible shooters being released in japan for PC (NOT THE SHAREWARE CRAP). I'm talking Valstar, Angeraze 1 & 2, Imperishable Night, Perfect Cherry Blossom, GunDead, and many others which i have. I used to get them all from this place called

http://www.himeyashop.com/index.php/cPath/62_63

but now there selection has dwindled way down. anyone know where i can find more COMMERCIAL japanese scrolling shooters for the PC?

I stress the word commercial, as i don't what freeware/shareware crap made by some guy with some game making utility. Im looking for dojin shooters so please dont mention that shooter database site or any other similar ones.

actually dojin shmups aren't commercial, hence the name dojin. it should be pointed out that PC shmups database is as much a list of dojin shmups as it is anything. the term being colloquially applied to entire japanese freeware/indie scene.

similarly the term shareware in america kind of specifically reffered to software that could be installed as a limited demo then a simple key would unlock the rest of the game, hence you could download or by the shareware disk then share the disk with your friends who could install and buy it seperatly, needing only one copy to spread around a circle of friends. however it is also come to be colloquially used to refer to american freeware/indie software and as such is largely equivalent to the usage of dojin.

what you wanna ask for is a site where you can BUY dojin shmups, which is really the important distinction, far more so than the exact word you wanna describe the games with.

i just say this cause you kinda seem like a dick.

that said, while I personally can't vouch for them I remember some one on the board pointing some people to http://www.paletweb.com/search.asp?Sellect_Platform=13 for some soundtracks (genre: other) and they sell some shmups.

I lol'd so hard it's not even funny. Do you not know that most doujin games out there are made by one, or if they're lucky, a small group of crazy fanboys with too much time on their hands?

Even the highly praised Touhou series were made by just one guy (unless ZUN lied).

Some other titles you should tryout:
hitogata happa
China vortex (H-scenes ahoy)
eXceed~イクシード~
ParityShot (and its sequel ParityShot Integral, which just came out in c69)
TobiTsukihime

Very, very high?

I'm using XP. And I have no problems so far with running the doujin games I have. Run it on compatibility mode if the game somehow crashes.
