Homura All-Clear Demonstration

Homura All-Clear Demonstration (157 MB)

For the time being, I'll use one of my local hosts, but once the new year arrives, I'll upload this to super-play.co.uk.

A few notes about the replay:

During the battle of the stage 2 mid-boss I released the shot-button in the nick-of-too-late, killing him before I could initiate a counter-slash against his next bullet formation (which is good for a couple of million points).

The stage 4 boss battle was a disaster! All three places where I died I had no business dieing. Fortunately, I was able to take advantage of the second death and get in close for a hefty counter-slash against a particularly bullet-heavy attack (so I'll grudgingly accept the score trade-off).

The one death in stage 5 was a little awkward, but I suppose I could write it off since I got a bomb back for dieing.

Thanks man! I've been wanting to see more detailed videos of this since the first grainy ones came out. Since I ordered an upscan converter today (:D), I might have to be checking the game itself out soon too.

And with that I'm off to work. I'll catch it later.

You can upload and submit the video to superplay right now. It just won't be downloadable till next year.

Well, it's been uploaded to super-play.co.uk... so in 3 days, nobody should have to put up with kainnet's terrible bandwidth issues. :/

It took me 3 weeks to nail my first SCC with Homura.

Kiken, do you happen to know the current best score :?

No. But I'm willing to think that it's considerably higher than my 1.135 billion. ;)

Actually... my score probably isn't too horrendous. When I strictly focus on a game, I'm normally able to break the 80% barrier score-wise.

Uhm, it's just that, well, after 3 weeks, i suppose that not much more than, say, 50% of the possible score is already a good result

Ah, so the record is around the 2 billion mark? Gives me something to aim for. :)

Ehr, no, i mean, if your score is somewhere around 50%, it would be nice (i'm speculating as AIVA still lacks an Homura entry :? ) . At any case, i've finally ordered the game, i think i'll be able to "study" the title in the near future :)

Thanks for the replay Kiken. Good stuff. ^_^

Looks like you've developed some good strategies there. I don't have Homura myself (doesn't really appeal to me) but from what I could see in the replay, there are probably a few spots where you could wait a second or two longer to catch more enemies in the Dash Attack. (Waiting until the last second seems to be the norm in games with similar "group chaining" scoring systems eg Espgaluda, Space Bomber.)

The three deaths in stage4 looked painful as well. The patterns look pretty tricky, although I'm sure with a bit of practice you'll have them down.

Good luck with your 2bil hunt ^_-

Just thought I'd suggest that perhaps you should turn it into either a Putfile or maybe Rapidshare or something, cause the download isn't working.
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.
