There is, a relatively simple DC->Jamma adapter called the MGCD.

Uh, you know, this can actually steal Rajirugi's thunder and even cause it to go unnoticed.

Not really. They've both come out in the arcades, and even premiered at the same AM Show (relatively unnoticed in the wake of ESPGaluda II I must say). The only people buying them that haven't played them is... well, pretty much us.

The actual porting process from Neomi to DC is fast. You just take the source code for Neomi and recompile it with the DC compiler. It would takes a programmer 1 week max to do this. It kind of like taking a order version of VB program and recompile it wiht the latest version of VB. Not much work involve. A PS2 / XBOX360 port would be another story.
Dave_K. wrote:OMG, I was ready to buy a Naomi setup just for this game. Unbelievable.
Believe me I was actually monitoring Yahoo Auction JP for a GD-Rom of this game.

I cannot believe we would actually got a DC port of it.

Where is my Play-Asia coupon.
Ar.. here it is.....
What my Play-Asia a/c password...
Ar.. That's right.
Let see Limited Edition or Regular version?
Let me recall.... What the price for a LE Border Down now?
Go for Limited Edition, that's couldn't be wrong.
Preordered.
Payment Sent.

I know that. I'm concerned that the port steals the thunder of the arcade release.

Unfortunally its not as straightforward as that. To quote System16:
Notice that Naomi has twice the amount of main memory and graphics memory that Dreamcast has, so ports from Naomi to Dreamcast may involve more conversion time. Also note that the Naomi board has four times the sound memory of the Dreamcast, and the reason for this is because the Naomi board is'nt meant to spool redbook audio from the GD-ROM drive.
So some optimization time will be needed for DC ports, but the op codes are directly portable since its the same architecture . Still relatively simple compared to other console ports.

According to:
http://insertcredit.com/
Is there any prize for the company that releases the last DC game? Seems so, 'cause there's another one announced after Milestone's Rajirugi - Grev's Under Defeat, the latest shooting game for the NAOMI platform, confirms the DC as the '128-bit Neo-Geo'. Scheduled for March 23rd in two different flavors: with or without OST, according to Game Boku Tenin no Tawagoto. Preorders can be taken here.

According to this site the game will have a "original element", gallery mode, and tutorial mode. They also show a mock up of Radigry's box art though I have no clue if it's official. *-neo

G.Rev really went the extra mile with their Border Down DC port last time - the addition of the "original" Remix mode was like a totally new game (or a Border Down 1.5...). Perhaps this mention of an "original element" hints at something similar in Under Defeat DC.

Yeah...join the club. Can't help but support a great system even if its dead on this side of the ocean. Long Live the DC!

I got a feeling this is gonna be a good year for shooters. Now if only Last Hope would come out on either the MVS or DC i could claim a Trifecta tag.
dont worry there will be a rom in no time , which to be honest is a shame, they really should of done a DC port, normal people cant drop $600 down on a game (well most of the time  )

It's definitely similar in style, if a bit less bouncy/jazzy. I dig it.

WoW Just watched the vids on Sega AM's site...this looks unbelieveably cool. The level I-3 action looks sweet.

Yeah, it's pretty nice. Cheezy stuff, but it sounds good enough. It's not by Watanabe this time around, though.
