So my atomis wave board has been giving me coin error out of the blue. I check the test menu and sure enough, Player 2's coin is always on. I disconnected the P2 button and it was still always on. I'm guessing the pull up resistor took a shit inside the board but unsure if they use a resistor array or individual resistors or those weird resistor + capacitor in one thingies. I haven't had time to open it, but plan to next weekend to take a look. Right now I just wired the button to a momentary open switch that pulls the p2 coin button up with 5v so I can boot a game until I can find a fix.
Anyone have any idea? If it is a resistor array, anyone know what part it is so I can replace it? Thanks.

Re: Atomis Wave coin error.
Just remove the protection diode related with that button(part ZD7) near to the jamma connector.

Re: Atomis Wave coin error.
I'd rather fix it keeping the design as intended rather than removing the protection diode. Seems odd to remove something of that nature when it wasn't the failing part? Unless the diodes themselves are known to fail?

Re: Atomis Wave coin error.
It needs to be replaced since it's not working. Or just leave it as removed.
Hope you can find the exact part for fixing it.

Check this out, a Scanline generator for the Atomiswave. I designed it.

Re: Atomis Wave coin error.
Interesting, but they're so easy to make with a 74LS125 and a 74LS74. I also use a xrgb mini and the jamma pins not the vga.
Thank you for your help on the coin error.
