Please God let it be true. Been waiting for the Vita port since forever and my console is probably under a layer of dust by now.

...ok.

If this happens I would be so happy. The Vita has pretty much no shmups at all. The single thing I know it runs is Gunbird and that's it.

The port has now been confirmed by Housemarque. Roll on! A Vita game of must-buy pedigree is something I'm yet to experience.

RESOGUN will be equally at home on the venerable Playstation TV micro console as well. Makes me wonder if it'll support 720p or 1080i resolutions at best.

I should have posted this in the drunk thread, haven't felt the need to post anything because the topics are pretty low in quality recently.

Port confirmed to be cross-buy with PS4 and PS3. The article mentions that Vita and PS3 versions were downgraded to 30 fps but that it is locked without drops. Also, since I grabbed this day 1 with PS+, I'll be downloading it for free once the game releases.

"Must-buy pedigree," my ass. It's Defender Neo as a particle effects demo, with a side helping of Euroshmupdom. At least Sine Mora has more interesting graphics than particles splashing everywhere.

Getting this for Vita, and PS4 later (thanks Sony for the Cross-Buy). I can live with 30 FPS... this is better than not having a Vita version at all.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Idiot.

It's a perfectly fine game. Have you even played it or are you just mouthing off profound transitory statements as per usual?

Its coming to PS3 also, which is kinda funny considering it was hyped as using some futuristic PS4 tech. lol

Seems the Resogun Vita problem relates to the PS4 licesnse:

ShadowJR wrote:Go to store website and add the 3 RESOGUN versions to your cart, then do the check out (should be free)
Then delete the RESOGUN version on the Vita and then go to your download list and download it again. Then wait till the update file complete download and click to update RESOGUN. Voila your game should be working now on the vita.
Following these directions fixed the problem for me.

I bought this yesterday and think it's really good. Also seems to have a well thought out scoring system.

Anyone played both the PS4 and Vita version? Any differences (expect fps)?

Saw that Resogun was available on the U.S. PSN site and bought it right away earlier this morning for the Vita. Upon initially downloading the program and seeing that a patch was released & applied, with the patch will say that the Vita port is at the latest v1.08 spec indeed.

I was hoping for a 60fps framerate spec (as the ol' Vita can handle such framerates without a problem) but with the 30fps cap is alright and really doesn't distract from the overall gameplay itself. Looks awesome on a 1st-gen Vita with the endowed OLED screen as usual. Still don't see any American PSN users with #1 rankings on any of the online ranking as of today (12-24-2014). Like the cool tech demo with the main title screen showcasing what the Vita can do with numerous cubes and it's cool morphing shapes with said cubes all running in "real time" splendor -- impressive Vita eye candy demo tech right there (strongly reminds me of the cool colorful hexagonal polygonal tech demo scene with the Xbox 360 indie game of Prismatic Solid as shown during the main title screen as well).

Am not sure if the Vita port of Resogun is playable on the PlayStation TV micro-console though (despite not having any Vita touch screen support whatsoever from the get-go).

Resogun was pretty much my favorite PS4 launch game, glad to see it get a port to Vita. And yeah, one of the reasons it's awesome is how reminiscent of Defender it is. In what world is that a bad thing?

Terrific little scoring game. I managed to full chain stage one on Veteran today - took a few more attempts than I would have liked, but it felt good. I've been ignoring Experienced because I felt it was a bit slow, but going back to it after Veteran I can appreciate it more for chaining/scoring etc. now, while making actual progress through the stages.

Any advice for stage chaining?

I'm using boost in short bursts and throwing the humans into the teleporters, but I occasionally find myself stuck with nothing on screen and a dying multiplier, and end up having to bomb just to keep it from dropping.

I think you should try to kill whole groups of enemies at once without sparing single ships, they tend to end up anywhere on the playing field delaying spawning of new enemies. Also rapidly boosting away from newly spawned enemies has the same effect. But yeah, I'm using the bomb also for keeping up the chain mostly.

I only played on standard difficulty yet, currently 5th on the leaderboards. I wanted to put in a decent score before going up the difficulty level, hope to reach third spot soon :) Number 1 & 2 seem pretty unrechable for now.

Right so I want to be trying to kill off entire packs to get the next lot to respawn. I'll keep that in mind.

I haven't even looked at the leaderboards yet, no idea what's going on there, I'm just toying with the modes at the moment. After stepping down from Veteran I managed to *almost* chain the first two stages - the second failed when I collided with a little hungry enemy craft.

Music's awesome in this, should be noted, and I like the amount of thinking that's gone into the way scoring works, what with multiplier freezes between phases, overdrives, bombs and on bosses - gives you an opportunity to get tactical with it.

This game is awesome. Surprised there's not more comments about it. Almost worth buying a Vita for. By far the most played game I have on the system. Control is spot on. Love the particle effects.

This thread is giving me a slight feeling of regret towards selling off my vita as I don't own or want a ps4.

Is it actually out? I checked the store last night, albeit on the PS TV, and didn't see it. Unless it's one of those "incompatible" games, heh..

*edit.. durr, yeah, it is out. It doesn't show up in the main Vita software list on the PSN store on the PS TV. I was able to find it by using the search tool. Took a risk on it, and low and behold it actually works on the PS TV.

So, still playing Skykid?

Started with Veteran today and loving it. I didn't expect your Multiplier going down that fast compared to Experienced, the gameplay is much more frenetic now which is great.

I would really like to see the PS4 leaderboards once. Looking at the Vita boards it seems there's not much going on there sadly. I scored 162 millions on Veteran after a few tries and to my surprise that's 3rd spot in the rankings.

Still playing when I can, Vita's still in my bag. Had a few wasteful veteran rounds yesterday - wasteful because I have the most appalling restsartitis on this game. If I don't full chain (or at least almost) stage one, or die, I just start over. Which doesn't get me anywhere as I don't often play for too long.

I tried to check out the leaderboards a couple of times but it informs me I need to DL some update, and when I try that it doesn't work. Not sure what the issue is.

162 mil on Veteran? How many stages did you go through and what were the scoring highlights (chaining, humans saved etc?)

I chained through one and two but lost two lives on the second boss (man he's fast on Veteran).
Lost another two lives in stage three but somehow managed to get to the boss with a x10.5 multiplier. At that point I had around 75 mills I think. Then nailed the 3rd boss (search for the scoring trick on youtube if you don't know it yet) and finished the stage with 150 mills.
Stage 4 was just survival with broken chains all over the place and then I lost my last life at the beginning of stage 5.
