superplays...
Thank you for the vid of Sylphia! I've seen VERY few screens and of course no video! Great theme! I can now consider saving up and buying.
Thank you for ESPG2....wow, just...WOW! Much better level backgrounds IMO, and much better boss music!
And finally, THANK YOU FOR THE SITE!

This is a site I can really appreciate, there's even a Ghouls N Ghosts and a Super Ghouls N Ghosts superplay there, surprised there isn't a Ghosts N Goblins one there too, although I've seen one from Marp where the guy twiddles right before the level checkpoint and milked points off the zombies and assorted bad guys.
Again thanks for the site, and keep up the excellent work you guys are doing on your 1CC replays and such.

Thanks for that,. but could you please put the R-Type II one back up?? I just found it late last night, and didn't get a chance to download it.Plasmo wrote:R-Type II vid is up now!Anyone have (or know of any) R-Type, or R-Type II superplays? I'm referring to the original arcade versions.

Thanks man! It's downloading now! Doesn't matter that it's the first R-Type, I have R-Types for PS1, and you don't see Super Plays of either R-Type or R-Type II every day, so thanks!Plasmo wrote:check PM.
oh and this is the last day this month so dl as much as you can.

Yes, suddenly all of Japan discovered us in a 2-day period or so. We were transferring 100-200 GB of data per day for a while. Not sustainable.Xexyz wrote:That's nuts! I had a feeling that the Japanese text on the front page meant something along the lines of "Please slow down! We can't take it any more!" ^_^snacky wrote:Yes, suddenly all of Japan discovered us in a 2-day period or so. We were transferring 100-200 GB of data per day for a while. Not sustainable.
At least you know the Japanese know of the site. Maybe they'll start uploading new stuff there. (One can only hope.)

As much as it would suck, you could put it on a login system and quota people on it. They get like 1G initially and then Xmegs every day/week/month after. But even that can be abused by people creating 20 accounts.snacky wrote:Yes, suddenly all of Japan discovered us in a 2-day period or so. We were transferring 100-200 GB of data per day for a while. Best bet might be bandwidth throttling and not allowing multiple connections from the same IP.

No bandwidth warning in Japanese (although the what is there is written perfectly!). I would hate to see this site die. The accounts thing is pretty much the only way to do it if you can't keep up with the bandwidth, and even then, you'd have to manually confirm and monitor them.I had a feeling that the Japanese text on the front page meant something along the lines of "Please slow down! We can't take it any more!" ^_^

Good luck w/ all of that.

Not allowing mutliple connections from the same IP is never a good idea. There is not a 1:1 relationship between IP address and 'users'. On one hand you have fairly large networks behind proxies and/or NAT (and you would be surprised at how LARGE these networks sometimes are). On the other hand, people who are out to actually leech with reckless abandon aren't really deterred by single connections. It's somewhat of a losing solution all around. Not to mention it's kinda hard to track correctly. Ever try to download from Hameko and get that error message sometimes? That's because they limit you to one connection per IP, and it's misfiring and counting your initial connect to the file list as still active.landshark wrote:As much as it would suck, you could put it on a login system and quota people on it. It's a fantastic idea when you have people milking your site. True that the web is connectionless, but when you're downloading a file, it is 1:1. Also allowing only 1 connection per IP (like hameko does) keeps people from using download accellerators. What are the chances that people from the exact same IP are downloading shooter superplays at the same time? Very small, and if they are, they should probably get back to work anywayNot allowing mutliple connections from the same IP is never a good idea.
Solved by clicking the link again. I'll take that over nothing at all. That's because they limit you to one connection per IP, and it's misfiring and counting your initial connect to the file list as still active.

I would highly recommend the accounts, validated by a valid email address (cutting freemail accounts out) w/ download limits. THat's really the only way to keep it under control.

You can login anonymously.
You can do it via any ftp client you should have a separate option to login anonymously - which piece of software are you using?
Or you can do it via explorer by simply going to ftp://super-play.co.uk and dragging and dropping the file in there.

WS-FTP LE. Tried the anonymous login, and it wouldn't let me -_-;;rjpageuk wrote:You can login anonymously.

Can I drag and drop using Firefox? Or do I have to use Internet Exploder?

I think Firefox auto opens the file in the browser if it can when you try to drag and drop I am not sure.Icarus wrote:WS-FTP LE. Tried the anonymous login, and it wouldn't let me -_-;;

Anyhow I installed WS-FTP LE to have a look.
If you type "ftp://super-play.co.uk" into the address bar at the top and then press enter it will connct to the FTP fine. You can then drag and drop files into the space using the software.
If you use the connection manager you have to specify connection type (ftp), a server address (ftp://super-play.co.uk) and a username and password. You should specify the username "anonymous" and no password. This works fine also.
Let me know if you have any other problems.
Hey guys, thanks for all your hard work at providing replays for everyone so far. I hope this effort doesn't die out. I think it' wonderful.
I do have a request: If anyone has a superplay of Cotton 2 (NOT Cotton Boomerang) I would love to see it. I've heard that it's possible to get 30 million points in the game, but by all of my most optimistic estimations that seems impossible. I fear I am missing something.

Just watched the anonymous mushimesama superplay hoping to learn a thing or two.
I learned in level 1 that its possible to survive more than 50% of the level 1" from the top of the screen.
I learned that this guy can weave bullets all day long, taunts boss's even in the most congested playfields. Even goes inside their mouths and can dodge boss bullet spreads 1" from the shooting area.
The last thing I learned, is that Cave can make games that no joystick manufacturer in the world is going to help me 1CC.

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
i have a counterstop MM 1CC video.. maybe its thatone? otherwise ill upload it straight awayRob wrote:Uploaded a 3 trillion point clear for Mars Matrix. I'll have to check out the other clear for MM once it's available.

COTTON 2 video is super rare, I not have. But exist, is 26mil.
There has to be multiple counterstop replays though, right? It's not hard. ACR does it with 3.9m exp and I think it's possible to get at least 9m exp.sven666 wrote:i have a counterstop MM 1CC video.. maybe its thatone? otherwise ill upload it straight awayRob wrote:Uploaded a 3 trillion point clear for Mars Matrix. What connection are you using to the TV? RF will look like garbage no matter what. I've never had issues though recording my MD games since I'm using the A/V cables.Rob wrote:Replay dudes:
Does anyone know why 16-bit (Genesis) games don't capture properly? Haven't had a problem with anything but trying to transfer a recorded (to tape) speedrun of Thunder Force 2.
