Anyone using Clickteam Fusion for Game Developement?

Post by JustinGameDesign »

I've been working on my shoot'em up Wings of Aetos for a couple months now, but I can't seem to find many resources for developing a shmup in Clickteam Fusion 2.5 or its earlier incarnation Multimedia Fusion 2.

Is anyone here using Fusion or aware of where I should look for advice specific to shmup development in Fusion?

Thanks. And here's a recent screen capture from development using some dummied-in graphics for fire and explosions:

Xeno Fighters R used to be made in Multimedia Fusion before it made the jump to Game Maker. However, both it and its author are currently on hiatus as far as I know.

XFEX was made with a very old Multimedia Fusion, not the current v2 or Clickteam Fusion. It seemed that there was a LOT of limitations imposed, the lack of 360 degrees of circular movement was one such hallmark and the last time I dabbled with MMF2 it didn't seem to have improved much at all. The GIF in OP's post suggests that isn't such an issue anymore with the orb rotation though.

Pretty sure Clickteam themselves have (or at least had) a forum for this, I suggest trying there for program-specific advice if possible as that way you'll find more experienced programmers with the common engine than what we've got here, but I don't think anyone will trump us for general shmup knowledge. ;)

Alright, thanks, I'll have to check back when the hiatus ends.

I'm doing the art, and yeah, Legendary Wings is certainly an influence.

Alright, I'll check the Clickteam forums again and see what I can find.
