XRGB Mini and SNES issue

Post by patacular »

Hoping someone can help me out, have a SNES mini with the RGB and c-sync mod, system works great on a sony PVM monitor.

After switching to the official nintendo japanese SCART and the XRGB mini we get this:

doesnt matter which game and games have been cleaned and tested.

Any suggestions?

Official SFC RGB cables are known to have leaky caps and that looks exactly like leaky caps.
Open up that RGB cable and replace the caps. You may also need to fix traces on the cap PCB.

I actually have the same exact problem. I think it´s because the damned leaked capacitors....
I got my sfc cable this week but didn´t try it out until today and found out the ¨too-dark-screen¨problem :(

Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys if there´s a way to clean open the cap of the sfc (japanese) rgb cable (shown in the pic).

I´ve been trying to open it without actually tear it apart but it´s kind of difficult :/
