You don't get 6 bombs with all the lives but its true that you get a lot of bombs to use in Dodonpachi. That said, there's also a lot of tough shit. Unless you're pretty good, you probably can't afford to lose many if any of them in the first loop and the TLB will likely require a good portion of those lives+bombs alone so... IMO, the lives and bombs are there because its hard and you don't really have 'too many' :>
EDIT: And idk if its just me who sucks but you typically don't get all your bombs used on every single life. You'll lose a good amount of those bombs to dying with bombs in stock as you fail to dodge something through input error etc.

Only a boring individual would limit themselves to one company or series.
I try to keep an open mind and appreciate what each individual game is trying to do and what it has to offer. For example, it's not like Thunder Force V doesn't anything absolutely crazy from other shmups or even it's preceding entry but the music is some of the best around, the presentation is epic and gameplay is responsive, fast-paced and consistent.
I dunno, it seems these days shmup fans are the video game equalvalent to the guy who can't get it up anymore without extreme measures.
Considering how little we get these days, it's amazing how picky the audience is. Sine Mora might be one of those games that meritoriously got destroyed amongst fans of the genre (for not having much substance in the long haul) however I don't see people giving much props to Resogun or Velocity 2X for putting new spins or takes on the genre and has that spirit of shmups where you just want to get a little further, a little better. Not the biggest fan of them but I enjoyed them for trying new things.

I like R-Type more than a good few of Cave shooters and...certain more than anything with the Touhou name. I think even the first one still have tons of playability after all these years. Classic games. Would love to see Final on PC.
