Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with PS2 to Dreamcast controller converter.
I would like to avoid buying another arcade stick for the Dreamcast, and I was thinking about using my PS2 arcade stick.
Any feedback ?
Thanks!

The Total Control Plus by EMS is available and I'm not aware that there is anything better out there. Ultimately it was only designed to be used with a DualShock 2, so it will work with some PS2 controllers/sticks but not all of them. Have a look here

Thanks for the link, seems like to be of cheap quality but working !
The arcade stick I'll be using has a Mayflash PCB, I have to check if it will work.
PS2 to Saturn would be useful too...

The version of the PCB matters with Mayflash sticks. In my case I need to connect/power up the stick with the AUTO button pressed otherwise the Total Control 2 converter goes nuts (Whats the best Shmups arcade stick?).

That's really helpful, I don't mind pressing one button at boot if I don't have to buy a dedicated Dreamcast stick. Could be a vibration related issue ? (Always had some issues with vibration and arcade stick.)
And it's perfect if it works on Gamecube and Saturn too !
Thanks ! Will order this tonight.

I used to use a Total Control adapter with a Namco PS stick, it worked great.
Nice to have the VMU connector as well, but you can also just connect a standard DC controller to port 2 or whatever.

Got my Total Control Plus yesterday, and it's working perfectly with the Mayflash PCB, I don't have to press the Auto button to boot it properly. I only tried Gigawing but there shouldn't be any issue with other games !
Can't wait to get my PSX to Saturn converter, hopefully it'll work too.

Be easy on the memory card port. Bending it can easily break the internal solderings. I store them disconnected lest I break mine again rummaging for something.

Exactly what happened to mine! Now I'm thinking I should just pay someone to mod my old Mad Catz controller so that I could plug a PS2 controller into it. I'm pretty sure the Total Control Plus had problems with my official Sega 4x memory card anyway.antron wrote:Be easy on the memory card port. Bending it can easily break the internal solderings. And before someone mentions just loading the data from Slot 2 or whatever... some of us just really like to play on the P1 side, and some games (Gunbird 2, Ikaruga) absolutely refuse to save and load from any place other than controller 1, slot 1. Soul Calibur can load from other slots, but it only auto-loads from controller 1, slot 1. And I could really see myself doing something stupid like overwriting my "everything unlocked" saves with a fresh save because of it.
