Recommended Anime/Manga?

is Eureka Seven good? I been meaning to watch it for a while and now G Reco has renewed my interest, a lot of people seem to like it a lot.

It's nothing special but a far way away from being terrible.

Of course, my true goal is to get everyone to watch the most horrible abominations of all time.

The first time I watched Eureka 7 many years ago I thought it was fanatastic, and the one time I tried to rewatch it years later I thought it was boring. I'd say it's worth checking out at least.

I think I'll have to check that out... haven't seen a terrible J.C.Staff Show that makes me want to jump out of the window in waaay too long

It is awesome, and has great animation, but i feel it drags a bit much. 50 something episodes was maybe too much?

Agreed Eureka7 is quite good, maybe a bit too long yes, and maybe not-so-awesome for an adult viewer (cheesy teenager romance inside). ^^

Anime shows of that level of quality are rare, if non-existent today.

Well I have watched 1.5 episodes of Eureka Seven now and so far I am loving it, though there is one thing which annoys me, stupid as it may be it really annoys me how everyone's regular footed, there's an anti-goofy conspiracy in media depiction of skating and surfing in general I find, even Sonic was rockin it left foot forward :p.

The animation in Eureka Seven is very very good I thought - and while it took a while to get used to the chara faces, I really like how smoothly and detailedly they are animated and have real emotion on their faces.

it was never anything but brilliant to me though it has the usual 2nd quarter anime dip, and no it doesn't stay that way (not that I have any problem with
saturday morning cartoons). IMO Ideon starts to feel genuinely unsettling and otherworldly. When people say Hideaki Anno was very influenced by Ideon when making Evangelion I think it is that feeling which is the biggest influence.

Yes, all of it, except for Arise. That's the two Oshii movies, both seasons of Stand Alone Complex, and the Solid State Society movie that serves as a conclusion to SAC.

Arise is okay, but it's not a must-watch like the rest of the franchise.

I never really liked SAC. Could never put my finger quite on why. For that reason I didn't get round to watching Innocence until a few months ago which was just amazing. More of a sequel to Oshii's Avalon and all the better for it.

I believe its non-scale but it’s a bit larger than 1/48, I would probably liken it to a 1/35. It stands at just over 50cm tall.

Am about halfway through Stardust Crusaders manga and watched the first JJBA OVA (well not the first, but the first in the JJBA timeline (the start of Stardust Crusaders)). It wasn't that bad really at all I thought, even though a lot of people seem to think it was shit.

Also I finally have started watching Cowboy Bebop - my aversion to a lot of jazz music has put me off for quite a while, but so far (I've seen 3 episodes) I do think it is deserving of every bit of praise it gets. The animation is detailed where it should be detailed and loose/artistic where it should be, also the movement is so fluid and well done. Also it's cool to hear Space Dandy's voice again (yes I know I am REALLY late to be watching Cowboy Bebop).

Investi-magating this "J.C.Staff" company, it's kind of amusing how often they faceplant. I don't think anyone can be proud of having worked on Shakugan no Shana. Even the watchable fare they made that I like seems to have a specter of disappointment about it that's hard to articulate.

Maybe the studio's just haunted.

JC Staff did Utena though didn't they? They could literally churn out shit for the rest of their lives and they'd still be legends.

Build Fighters Try was ace and my 4 year old son also loved it. It's a pity Ramba Ral's seiyou is sick though - though it does look like he got his parts done for this series.
