I suppose that's slightly off topic but I don't wanna start a new thread
Been playing that for at least a year now with the friends I usually play smash with. And they're all "casuals" who play with items on any stage, not what you'd expect to be the audience for this mod.
Brawl is -that- bad.

Yeah you can finally find people play for fun online! Still not like I'd use this much, since it's much fun to play with friends local.
blog - scores - collection Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.
I've recently got dolphin and set that up for netplay, if you've got that i'm up for a few games sometime!
hm okay here's a smash 4 grand finals ( in someone's kitchen ). Ehhh... I'm not that impressed thus far, it does look like brawl 2.
Actually the Ness vs Zelda/Robin matches did contain some hype.
Just walked in with the 3DS one, starting a live stream now. (twitch.tv/redhothero). The demo was fun, feels a little better than brawl.
This game series is one that really shines when you have local people to play with, easily one of the better couch games. I haven't gotten much net time in with it (yet?)
Been digging in a little. Surprised to find I really dig Pac-Man. At base he's sort of a Mr. Game & Watch, but has some interesting recovery options similar to Mega Man and Meta Knight. His fire hydrant drop is also real interesting.
Anyway, if any of y'all want to Smash, my friend code is: 3196-3691-5370
It's ridiculous how many characters have a B-Down counterattack special (of the type originally used by Marth and Roy) this time around. They were clearly scraping the bottom of the well of ideas for new moves.

I agree... the roster has almost 2x the characters of Melee so I think I'd be fine with 4 characters with a counter, but now we got like 6 or 7.

I had a thought recently, and please bare with me on this:
What if there are a few characters exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS version? It's a long shot, but I'm hoping that it might be the case.

The roster has been confirmed to be the same between versions. There has been reasonable, if hopeful, speculation that the Wii U version would have additional characters that you could share with the 3DS version (or just download on the 3DS from the eshop or whatever when the Wii U version is released). I'm sure Nintendo knows that having the 3DS version release first could damper enthusiasm/interest for the Wii U version, and that more characters released alongside it would get people excited again. But it's just speculation/rumour.
First and foremost: Why the hell can't the game just automatically update itself when you launch it? That's what everything else does! Now, because of their dumbass nintendo ID thing being linked to it, only my sister is able to access it because we share the same 3DS. So now I can't play online mode because of that. Actually the store being linked with network ID, and having only one ID per console is the root of the problem... edit: currently downloading a system update so I can use the QR code from the website. Hopefully I can dance around the ID block with that.
Anyway, I finally unlocked all the characters. Bowser jr. and the rest of the koopalings seem to have their own slight stat differences, so it's kinda like 8 different characters in one! Which in turn begs the question: what the hell were they thinking when they gave Dr. Mario and the others their own slots?
Also is it me, or are level 9 cpus not as imposing as they used to be? Perhaps I give myself too little credit as a player, but I swear there was a time when level 9s were this huge wall.
One more thing: as far as I've seen in the trophy's I've unlocked, Giygas was mentioned TWICE! I was so surprised. Times sure are changing.

AI has never been Smash's strong suit. Was able to trounce 1v3 lvl 9 damn fast in both Melee and Brawl. Smash 4 is no different. Although I've noticed that the AI can't handle environmental hazards at all.
That DK stage was probably the worst of the melee stages. Why they chose that one over the other one I'll never know. Also, Kirby's only stage...

So I had to get my sister to enter her password in order to log me in and install the update. There's no way there aren't other people complaining about this "one account per console" BS. For a "family" company, Nintendo sure likes to individualize their consoles.

I would say wait and see since there's conflicting info from Nintendo and some of it sounds like it might be coming from someone who doesn't know what he is talking about.
