For couple of months I've been working on a game that ended up being a casual shmup. Very very casual. I've got the point where i had level, enemy and upgrade system finished. Afterwards i scripted 3 levels, made few backgrounds and sew it all together.
My SHMUP experience isn't big, ones i can remember are Blazing Star and Perfect Cherry Blossom.
Current goals for this projects are:
Colorless graphics (black and white)
Entry level into real bullet hell
Rewarding goal system (not just points or achievements)
Mobile SHMUP, for a quick gaming session
At the moment game has:
- 4 different upgrades (first they where pickups, now they are given instantly after killing "data node") which give different passive abilities + additional bullet pattern
- 3 levels (its enough to get the feedback)
- tricky control system. Game has virtual analog stick. Enabling "tap to move" would obscure the view. All the feedback on controls is welcome!
What game REALLY lacks:
- Better res graphics for high res devices
- Scoring / Reward system
Already saw the thread with "tips and tricks for shmup devs". Will check it out, but some "live" feedback would be good, since the game is being made on mobile, as an "entry level game".

PC Version has mixed controls.
Movement is handled with W, A, S, D and shooting is done with Space button.
To in menus, mouse must be used.
