Can you turn the battle voices off in this game? Like, not just the cinema voices, but the in-game yells and whatnot?
I posted this in the WiiU thread, but I don't think anyone saw it.
ALSO...is Pikmin 3 worth getting? Totally off topic, but I'm gonna get a WiiU for the 2 Platinum games, and would like something else. I've always liked Pikmin.
Question about Wonderful 101 voice options.

Re: Question about Wonderful 101 voice options.
There's an option to turn voices off. I only played with them off for one stage, but it seems like it affects everything: battles, cutscenes, and QTEs (ie. when a character pops in and says "Wonder Jump" before the jump prompt comes up, it will be silent. Same for "Wonder Punch", "Wonder Sword" etc etc). I'd just keep them on.
I thought Pikmin 3 was great. I had only played the original Pikmin 10+ years ago, though, so I can't really compare how good it is in comparison to the other two. And I'd recommend not sleeping on Nintendo's other games, even if your like me and thought all of their Wii output was disappointing. They've done an amazing job at turning my opinion around with the Wii U. Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, and NSMBU are some of the best games in their series; only MKDS, Mario 64, and SMB3 (and maybe the Lost Levels; I haven't played it since I was a kid) can compare imo.

Super Mario 3D World looks really good, actually. Forgot about that one.
How's the upscaling on the Wii games? I'm not expecting good things, but I'd like to be wrong.
And I don't expect Dolphin like quality. I would just hope it would make Sin and Punishment 2, not look like a jaggy mess on an HDTV.

Re: Question about Wonderful 101 voice options.
From what I can tell, the Wii U itself doesn't upscale ANYTHING. My TV shows that it is receiving a 1080p signal from source, but that's all it merely is (and expected, using an HDMI cable proper). Nothing has been "scaled" in any way, shape or form. That said, I find my copy of Sin and Punishment 2 to look absolutely fine. For reference, the TV I am using is a 50" Panasonic ST30. In the end, I can not say Wii games look "better," but they definitely do not look bad by any means. Then again, it could be that my AVR is responsible for the pleasant outcome. I hope this helps!evil_ash_xero wrote:Super Mario 3D World looks really good, actually. Forgot about that one.

Re: Question about Wonderful 101 voice options.
I like the way Wii VC games look better on an HD TV with the Wii U than on an HD TV with a Wii. They automatically display in the non streched aspect ratio on Wii U.
Re: Question about Wonderful 101 voice options.
Thw Wii U doesn't do anything to Wii games - they look like crap, you have to accept that. The WU emulates the Wii dashboard with its graphics and all, and doesn't upscale anything (as far as I know and my eyes could see.)

Disappointing to hear that.
I'll just play my Wii games on my CRT then.
