Hi All,
Recently bought myself a CMVS from a respected member in the neo geo circle and I am stoked with it but I have some issues with the unibios settings. I am not sure what the behavior of the universe bios is like but it seems the region and arcade / console setting can only be saved for a few hours. Say if I turn off the cmvs and have left it for 4 or 5 hours I have to reset the settings again because it will return to the default settings of Europe/ arcade.
I have read that the CMVS should charge this back up battery through use. But I have been playing for hours and when I switch it on again after leaving it, it returns to default settings. Just wondering if anyone else have experienced this problem before and would appreciate anyone to share their experience.
On another note I have some noise/interference issue which I have noticed during gameplay. I don't have a CRT to test this on, but I am running rgb through the mini framemeister. I have recorded this on and posted on youtube to get a better idea of the issue.

Could this issue be related to a power supply problem?
Thanks in Advance

Re: CMVS unibios config saving issue + interference issues
I removed the battery from my 4-slot and have to reset the unibios regions if turned off for too long.
Doesn't bother me much.
I suggest checking the battery

This does look like some PSU noise. What PSU do you use, is it some kind of HDD dedicated PSU, perhaps ?kumadoken wrote:On another note I have some noise/interference issue which I have noticed during gameplay. I am not sure, the PSU is supplied with the CMVS. Here are the specs on the label.
Model:53000
Input:100-240 ~ 50/60 hz
Output: 5V = 3A

The specs look fine, 3A is plenty for MVS. Could you post a picture of said power supply ?

I am based in hong kong / UK so I am using a 2 pin to 3 pin adaptor.

So the unibios settings actually does save for you with out the battery but only for a while? Similar to my issue?EllertMichael wrote:I removed the battery from my 4-slot and have to reset the unibios regions if turned off for too long.

The thing is the CMVS i bought is brand new and I have paid a alot of money for it, so I would expect there is a fresh battery inside already.

Not sure if this is a related problem to the unibios config saving problem, but has anyone see this weirdness on the hardware test page before?? See the clock going crazy
