After having connected the arcadeVGA to 3 different types of Sony PVM, it was time to try a non professional CRT. The images in the link below are from a PVM-20M2E.

I finally hooked it up to my Bang & Olufsen BEOVISION ME 6000. Connected via ArcadeVGA>UMSA> to scart input on the TV.
I am very impressed, ran straight off with no hiccups, slight mild flicker, but less than the PVM's which was a surprise. Minor issue with trying to input the 5Volts the UMSA needed, primarily due to cheap ass adapter I used, but worked after some fiddling. Results were better than the PVM's, felt more arcade like with a soft blur and less harsh scanlines, it also flickered very mildly which added to the old school arcade look.
This is now my preferred route for my arcade cab, time to pull out the pain in the ass to fix arcade monitor and replace with a TV. If the TV packs in, then I am sure I can get another for a pittance off ebay or the local charity shop, whereas trying to repair or replace an arcade monitor is both expensive and potentially dangerous. I thought it might be useful to post some results and mention the hardware used, in case anyone else out there wants a similar solution and doesn't quite know what to buy or expect.
Link to results of ArcadeVGA and B&O TV is below, apologies I didn't get enough schmups on there, rotating the damned thing would have been a pain as well as settings all the ini resolutions for each game...something for the future no doubt.

Hmm I see what you mean, I think I prefer the output from the B&O as well, although the PVM looks really good too.
Does the B&O have some kind of aperture grille?

The zoom shots indicate so, but I'm no expert..
Yeah the B&O output just feels more oldschool than the PVM's. I am sure I will find a use for them though :]
The B&O isnt exactly very square so I might need to find a ingenious way of propping it up for some vertical action. Its also 40kilos, so if it topples over I will certainly know about it ! It appears to have another glass screen infront of the actual screen, which gives it an almost bezel look and feel about it. I very happy with it, considering its been sat in my garage for over a year. Its been promoted to the loft now
