Tonight's Patriots Vs. Jets signified an ending of sorts. An end to an American insitution, Monday Night Football on ABC. Next season, MNF will be on ESPN. Whether this move will signal the death kneel or a resurrection for this show has yet to been seen.
I watched only half of the game before getting on the computer. You have no idea how badly I had to keep myself from firing up some FreeSpace. Man, it's sad to see such a treasured american institution go by the way side.
How many people here have watched MNF on ABC and How many people will see it on ESPN?
Farewell Monday Night Football. I knew ye well.

I watch MNF pretty much every week and that won't change as it moves to ESPN. The thing I hate about prime time football coverage: the focus on personal stories and crap like that. Unfortunately ESPN is no better in this regard, and when it comes to play-by-play analysis I think Madden is still better than Joe Theisman and that other guy. Oh well.
ESPN, ABC, it's all the same, literally, since they are owned by the same company. MNF has gone downhill because the announcers are horrible, Al Michaels is as interesting as a wall and Madden is an overblown "thinks-he-knows-it-all-but-is-really-captain-obvious". The Sunday Night Football crew is leagues more entertaining. I think they're talking about getting Cris Collinsworth for MNF, which would be awesome. Whoever picked the MNF games this season were geniuses though, seriously, worst season ever.

Yeah, for a long time I agreed with this, but recently I've been stunned by how terrible their commentary is. Just awful.Nemo wrote: The Sunday Night Football crew is leagues more entertaining.
As for Madden, he is really hit-or-miss. There's little doubt that the guy is smart, but sometimes I think he's a bit lazy.
And yeah, this is the worst MNF season ever.
