That's nothing.
I've seen a posed rubber ducky going for 500$ at e-bay a couple of year s back!
Oh, wait and that’s not all!
A haunted NES was sold for 200$ last year at e-bay.
A mate even put up his slightly used socks for sale on e-bay & another friend bought them so that they could both raise their e-bay counters.
A lot of crazy & sneaky people out there…

People here in the US are bidding several thousand dollars on ALUMINUM CHRISTMAS TREES THAT WENT OUT OF STYLE 50 YEARS AGO!
Check out "It Came From Ebay!!" sometime on G4TV-it's pretty scary some of the stuff people bid on!

I can't believe it?!?!
The Guwange flyer cost more than a Guwange PCB with art...
Once somthing become so rare and people start consider it got *collecter* value, its price went crazy.
This reminds me of the PCB kits of an 3 yrs old game being sold for GBP1,716...

Believe it. Flyers can sometimes generate more $$ than the instruction cards and artwork. Old namco flyers seem to be gold on YJ, for some reason. Seen many of them clear 20,000 yen regularly.SAM wrote:I can't believe it?!?!

It is worth what people will pay for it. The good, and definitely bad, thing about online auctions. The only thing I can say for certain is that you'd definitely get outbid for $30 if it pops up again. However this flyer had holes punched throught it and is not worth that much

The only chance you could got it for $30 is the seller make a mistake in the spelling of the item title and you place your bid before he/she could correct it.GaijinPunch wrote:It is worth what people will pay for it. Huh? Is there an eleventh commandment I'm unaware of? It should be "wrong" to buy a TV for $400, in that case. Or *anything*, except donating to starving children or buying food or utilities for oneself or one's family. By the way, it is acts like this that *make* us human :P Though serious collecting has never been for the faint-hearted, or for those with light pockets.Dylan1CC wrote:A "bootleg"/photocopy movement seriously needs to be started at this point. Paying hundreds of dollars for a used advertisement that you tape to a wall is just wrong on all human levels.
p.s. I doubt this dude would be taping it to a wall...
And, don't forget people... If you spend all your hard earned money on Hentai porn, video games, arcade cabinets and flyer/posters to satisfy your vanity instead of giving aid to the poor...umi wrote:Huh? Bear in mind that arcade posters and kit artwork is not normally available to the general gaming public, just to arcade operators and consumers with VERY deep pockets who can afford the kits. Sometimes the posters don't even come with the kits.Dylan1CC wrote:Whatever, I don't think a poster should cost that much. Not even if the entire dev team for the game signed it.
The closest most people get to an arcade poster is when they visit an arcade, and nine times out of ten, the posters are disposed of when they are changed for the latest releases. Only in rare cases - if you are good friends with the arcade operators, for example, or if you make a good offer for it - will you be given the posters off the walls.
(I had my eyes on an SSF2X poster with the lineart profiles of all the characters on it, over 12 years ago, displayed in the window of the arcade I used to visit. Imagine my horror when I learned they had simply scrunched up the A1 sized poster and thrown it in the trash. Ditto for the large cardboard standup of the adult Link from Ocarina of Time, in my local secondhand games shop.)
Given that, the rarity of the original, unspoiled arcade artwork is very high, and will often fetch a lot of money from people who wish to own that particular artwork, either to display in a frame, or to complete their own kits. Lord knows how much money I'd give for the arcade poster and PCB box for my incomplete Xexex kit. And now you should know the reluctance of the owners of these posters in FOLDING UP something beautiful, that cost an arm and a leg to get.
