R-Type models / ship figures

Post by neccros »

Hope this is the right sub forum. I am looking for a small scale R-9 or variant ship for my desk at home.

Does such a thing exist w/o costing a fortune or giving up my child????

Thx

There is the one that comes with R-Type Command (see below). I've actually got one of these still packaged, and don't know what to do with it.

I think it's regarded as a solid strategy game, but it's not Fire Emblem for sure.

R-9 series ships occasionally pop up on Y! Japan. They're garage shop stuff, however. I would love me a R-9E.

I have the one from R-Type command. I'm wondering, are there any more like that; same size, with a transparent base.

edit - OH SHIT. Ghegs, where did you get those little ones?

Those are from the Shooting Game Historica gashapon series, there's a whole bunch of them from different games.

They are, really nice work. I'll take a better picture later today, that one was apparently taken with a potato.

There are a bunch of awesome resin kits for R-Type (but they obviously are not plug and play and not sure how much they go for typically these days) like here:

Some cool stuff there. Hard to find though.

There are some killer Ikaruga kits. Quick search on Amazon yields:

I'm digging the Ginkei one.

This really makes me regret breaking the stand bits for my Shooting Game Historica R-9A. The sets go for ridiculous prices, though...

It was released as a garage kit I believe at a previous Wonderfest by 13B/Specter's - you can see their work here (I thought they'd done a bunch of r-type kits but I don't see them so maybe I'm thinking of someone else or imagining it):

http://members2.jcom.home.ne.jp/13bspec ... index.html

I don't know how one gets one now or what prices are (the last I saw of this one some time back, it went for a few hundred dollars). Kits like this one can typically only be purchased by attendees at a particular Wonderfest from what I understand.

I've tried 3d printing before. It's not very detailed and can mess up the model.
