Right, I was tricked into watching a couple minutes of one after seeing his serviceable (albeit far from great) takedown of the Solar Roadways scam. It reminded me of that guy who wrote a 4,000 page essay in rebuttal of some guy's youtube video making fun of the Star Wars prequels. Or when two people get into a fight on a forum and you just see pages full of quote blocks that no one cares about and just turns an entire thread into cancer.

Defend misogyny in games, misogyny in general, or vidya games in general all you'd like, but by god be more interesting than a regurgitated checklist of someone else's ideas.

Honestly, as a queer myself, I feel that the SJW movement is undermining the greater LGBT cause by handing our political adversaries (the conservatives) strawmen on a silver platter.

Most of these SJWs are middle-class, straight, white teens, who need to manufacture persecution to stave off their middle-class, straight, white guilt. I'm not saying that they are wrong, there are a great deal of fucked-up social constructs that put certain people at a disadvantage, and value certain people over others, but being particularly androgynous doesn't qualify you as an oppressed minority.

Every LGBT person I know has had similar experiences, in regards to gender as these people, they difference key is, since we're actually gay, we're more concerned about real problems, such as our physical safety.

Ask yourself -

Do you and your date get called "fags" by frat boys driving down the block?
Do people on the street become visibly angry, or disgusted when they see you together?
Do you live in constant fear of being outed, not knowing who will react in what way, or how they will react?
Do find yourself having no way of knowing where it is and isn't safe to go, because you or someone you know could become another "statistic", because some thousand year old monks decided that you're less of a person than everyone else?
And, even when you know that it's not likely for you yourself to be a victim of a hate-crime, does the simple knowledge that it happens to people like you, simply for existing as they were made, takes a psychological toll on you?
Do you internalize what those people believe about you and you end up living in fear?

If you can relate this questions, then you're probably being persecuted in some way or form.

If not, then stop making this about yourself, and stop hurting our progress.

I'm just amazed by the difference between Asian and western cultures when it comes to battling the terror of patriarchal societies. This thread is about people ranting their nuts/breasts off over sexual oppression, usually aimed squarely at males, while in Japan they're prostituting publicly.

If this same event occurred in the UK I wonder how people would handle it.

I think it's simply that the patriarchy (the patriarchy, the patriarchy!) in Asia is far stronger and more robust. The women have simply conceded defeat.

As an aside I'm getting a bit peeved by the Sarkeesian usage of 'patriarchy', which has now had its meaning distorted to become a blanket term for 'evil men'. It's actual original meaning relates to a man providing for his family financially and in doing so holds a position of head of the household/family.

It's an ancient thing and was a simple societal structure that worked at the time. I'm not saying it wasn't abused or diminishing of women's roles, but nowadays it's being used with reckless abandon.

I think anyone sane understands the importance of gender equality. The issue isn't whether gender equality is good or bad (of course it's good, it's what we should always be working towards!), but whether or not what modern feminism nowadays has become is a good representative for the fight for gender equality (constant victimhood, SJWs, "the patriarchy", "you're a misogynist because of anything that offends me", etc). If anything, some of the more radical crazies are doing harm to gender equality views.
