It looks like this will be made from the same mold as Seven and Celceta. That's fine by me, I just hope they don't go too far down the RPG rabbit hole.
Great, good to see Falcom ploughing on. This looks exactly like Celceta from the trailer, which is fine. I'm confident Ys will never be bogged down by the today's usual JRPG clutter since simplicity and action emphasis is the series hallmark. But with regard to improving Celceta Falcom need to up the challenge and improve the boss battles. Ys usually has smart bosses with interesting patterns but Celceta relied on the player choosing from a catalogue of assigned special attacks and just mashing on repeat, which took some of the wind out of its sails.
Bringing back the bump system in 2014 would be a day one purchase for me, lol.
I highly enjoyed Celceta, looking forward to this. Also looks like they may be implementing more platforming elements this time around, something I sorely missed in both Seven and Celceta.
Oh hey. I'm very hyped. Looks like Celceta with jumping.
Man, that reminds me that I have to finish 7 [I'm at the last boss and haven't touched it in forever] and Celceta [was about to say that I dunno where I put my Vita, but I see it sitting next to my DC].
Hmm, the Vita of this version better not be gimped as hell -- it'll be fucking ages before I get a PS4.
Actually, something makes me say that the PS4 version might be using Vita-quality assets, haha -- Falcom isn't noted for their HD work. They haven't made any game that couldn't be run as-is on the PS2. Ever [even Celceta].
But that's okay, because the games are fun as fuck and half the reason I own a Vita is because of Celceta [the other half being that it was around $110]. Such a great series.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
While I'm looking forward to this, and am glad that it's also coming to the Vita, my excitement is somewhat muted because I was a little let down by Celceta.
My main hopes for this game are that the performance of the Vita version is respectable and that they tone down the MMORPG-style grinding bullshit that was in Celceta and Seven.
