SONY PVM-20M4U horizontal line scrolls constantly down-HELP
I just got a SONY PVM-20M4U and I get horizontal line scrolls constantly down the screen when in S-video mode on my SNES.
Any ideas what I could do?
When I use composite, the problem is almost completely gone.
Hopefully the problem will go away when I get my RGB cables...

Maybe check the V HOLD value in the service menu?

Thanks for the reply.
The service menu is really confusion to me, and scary, but I will try to mess with that setting to see if it helps. My RGB scart cables are on the way... hopefully that will work fine...
Maybe I will upload a video when I get the chance

v hold should be available in the user menu, it is on my 1454qm which is the model before the m series.

I finally got my RGB Scart cables and adapter to hook it up and it works pretty much PERFECT. Very beautiful. It may need a little bit of a tune up if you are being Anal, and looking really hard. But it's still the best picture of a SNES I have ever seen!
I am not sure why S-video was giving me such a problem. Oh well... This will do!
Again, thank you so much to those who took the time to try to help.
When I have more time, I will try to document what I have learned in a video for those who discover how awesome RGB is and want to get a PVM in the future. The information on how to get these type of set up seems kind of scattered, confusing, and limited.

I am very happy with the picture quality already. If I look really extremely close, I still see a very faint "static snow" fuzzy pattern rippling down the screen. The pattern and direction seems similar to what I experienced when using composite and s-video.
Is this just the nature of CRT's? Could this be age/wear that I need to have the monitor refurbished/repaired? Or is it something that can be tuned up in settings?

What kind of PSU are you using on that SNES?

Do you mean the power cord? It's third party after market. I misplaced my original SNES power cord :[
Maybe, I can go look through my stuff again....

Glad you got it sorted out
I knew it was the AC adapter as I've witnessed this myself. It's apparently an issue with specific switched-mode PSUs, and might happen on other devices which originally use linear transformers as well.
