Over the years I have amassed quite a few other cards that have gotten expensive. I gave 200$ cash and traded in cards at the local game shop for the rest. I could have sold stuff myself but it was too much of a hassle and I have little time. Hopefully I will pass these on to my kids, but in the meantime I get to play them every week. These were meant to be played with, after all. I pity people wanting to get into collecting/playing vintage Magic the Gathering cards now. The prices are getting pretty steep, to put it lightly.
Good to see that they have found a good home.

I just bought the Sunsoft Memorial Vol. 6 compilation on PS1 just to play Gimmick in a legitimate format. Plays quite nicely with a Saturn-style PS2 pad - otherwise the buttons aren't mapped conveniently.

Even for someone who grew up on NES platformers, game is tough as nails!

This - Mega Turrican for JP Megadrive? I actually tried to make one but it keeps freezing - wrong chip speed possibly. Would love to beable to play this one.

I really like those Mega Soft Information pamphlets. I have vol. 1 and 5. Do you happen to know how many volumes there are? I haven't been able to find much information out there on them. Thanks

Why would you spend $100 on a bootleg when the original goes for around the same price?

Its been a while that it was possible to find a nice minty CIB of the US Version for 100$
My Japanese Version ( google Gameclub Serega ) came in for 70$ just yesterday - I had it
preordered a while ago, surprise to see it here again. works perfectly,
simply said its damn fine work getting this quality (cover, manual etc ) fanmade, it looks like a genuine release.

So why buying fan made stuff ? Hard to say, I guess I prefer the japanese style artworks, color manuals
and collecting things that not everyone has.

I actually already own the original US versions of Rolling Thunder 3, Mega Turrican and Sunset Riders. I'd want the repros simply as novelty items and because I hate the Western box design (which looks even more out of place as 98% of my games are Japanese).

Yeah, that Mega Turrican looks fantastic, I've been keeping an eye out for a minty US version but sod it, and sod the awful red border of the later releases too. I'm gettin' one of these babies 8)

I've already got Viewpoint JP version and the quality of the materials is excellent. They also used the art from the Neo game and not the silly original US Genesis one

Because the original is region locked (US or PAL) and my Megadrive is Japanese and I don't want to modify it. I tried hacking the ROM slightly and cannibalising a cart to make one, but for some reason it glitches and freezes from time to time.

Fair enough; have you tried the convertor carts? I have a couple and they let me play any region games I want on my Genesis and should work on the JP MD as well.

Yeah, the JP repros are really nice looking - I like the look of the Mega Turrican (the JP text looks nice even though it's the same pic), The Punisher (shit conversion though), Rolling Thunder 3 and Viewpoint (shit conversion as well) and I guess if your collection is only JP it makes sense if you have to have the cartridge as opposed to using something like an everdrive. I personally have an aversion to non-official releases but I have both US and JP collections (sometimes the same game in both because the JP artwork is typically better) so I have the flexibility and can stick to original releases (even went Euro for Cannon Fodder - fits in nicely with the mish mash that are Genesis sleeves) and use convertor carts to play the games on my original hardware.

I'm looking at sold ebay complete Mega Turricans and they're all $80-100.

It's one of those games that almost never comes up mint. I was forced to buy a new copy after months of seeing near mint or worse copies. I guess the repro should be mint :)

The Genesis sleeves are just a mess - after a while it's just a rainbow and you accept it.

A Pro Action Replay 2 will solve any region lock issues between Japanese and US carts, the only thing it won't do is run some Euro games at the correct speed.

Yeah, but I don't own one and my collection is all Japanese. This is the best solution, I hope they also do Chaos Engine.

Gaiares, Whip Rush, Calibur 50, and Elemental Master.

I'm officially a fan of the Gaiares instruction manual. Such a cheesy plot and characters, somehow fitting for that cover art, lol.

I always loved the box art for Whip Rush.
Back in those days, your imagination played a big part of the whole shmup and video game experience.
That cozy spaceship is how I envisioned the game being played had it occurred in real life.

I asked them for Chaos Engine and Speedball 2. Neither are planned, more people need to namedrop those titles when emailing them. I suppose they were only really popular in Europe hence the low number of requests, both are brilliant games with SB2 being one of the best future sports games of all time.

I'll mention Chaos Engine when I email them then, I'm after that too. Speedball 2 is available as NTSCJ already isn't it? Or is that version inferior to the western ones or something?

Speedball 2 was officially released in Japan and is fully in English. I was staring at my copy last night.

Did not survive a modding attempt. Didn't have the right gear for my dremel to cut through so much steel as was needed because the damn thing was too shallow to fit an LS-32 without cutting a huge chunk of metal out. So I said to hell with it.

Instead, I bought another Mayflash stick, whacked in Sanwa buttons and said LS-32, kept the PCB and made myself a PS2 stick:

And got an xtokki converter to use it on my 360.
