BNC ports on the PVM 1910 too far apart

Post by Drjebus »

Unexpected difficulty in my quest to mod my N64 for RGB: the SCART <-> BNC cables don't fan out enough!

I've been looking around, and I can't find BNC Male to BNC Female extension cables.

Here's what I did find:

BNC male to male extension cables

BNC female to female couplers

If I terminate the SCART <-> RCA cables with these female couplers, then add the male to male BNC extension cables to get from coupler to BNC ports on the PVM, will I preserve the RGB video signal?

Uhm, I have 1910s and I don't have any issues the BNC to SCART cable from http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sony-pvm.html. It's tight but it works. Also you may also want to go width the 25pin connector if you think the BNC isn't working out for you.

It'll be fine as long as the cable doesn't get super long. Your solution seems fine.

Most common solutions usually involve regular phono cables and then bnc adapters - you might find shorter phono cables about if you're worried about cable mess.

If you experience any issues try keeping the [now longer cables] away from clusters of power cables - but you really need a lot to cause any noticeable interference, never had this issue at home.

Thanks for the feedback. Also, yes, the cables *do* reach, but only just barely, which makes me feel uncomfortable >_>

BUT, if I don't run any risk of damaging my cable with the tightness, I'll just leave it as is.
