Official blurb: "More avoid-em-up than traditional shmup, r0x (Extended Play) is a simple arcade game where ammo is scarce and you are rewarded generously for taking risks and flying dangerously. Graze rocks, bullets and enemies to recharge your cannon and thrust at breakneck speed through the deadly meteor storm to rack up an epic score!"
Actual interesting info: r0x EP actually started out as an Atari Jaguar game - I have an early prototype sat here that may possibly be completed at some stage, depending on the rest of the team involved. Anyway, the plan was to initially complete a prototype in GMS, but then the Ouya offered the opportunity to expand the game considerably beyond what the Jaguar could handle - such as four player support, for example. The development of the Jag version halted, and the focus switched to releasing a near-final 'party build' of the Ouya version at the Sundown demo party a few weeks back (where it won second place in the wild category).
Now, here's the final version, available for both Ouya and Windows.

The game itself is actually a sequel to an unfinished Atari STE game (r0x zer0), and a remake of *another* Atari STE game that we released back in 2009 (r0x). Starting out as a simple 'avoid-em-up', we decided to redesign the game as a shmup with limited ammo with the intention of making the player feel both vulnerable as well as forcing them to think about and weigh up every shot. I know it's not the norm, but we're pretty happy with the end result

For those interested in hype-fuelled lists, r0x EP features:
* Thrusting!
* Grinding!
* Two single player modes with separate high score tables, and nine local multiplayer modes!
* Achievements system and player statistics!
* Algorithmic level generation!
* Seven track user-selectable OST composed entirely on an Amiga 1200 by demoscene musician h0ffman!
* Awesome artwork by Tikipod and Vierbit!
* Xbox 360 controller support!
Also, although originally designed as an Ouya title, it's worth noting that r0x EP also runs on similar spec Android devices, but requires a controller to play. The Windows version supports keyboard controls in addition to Xbox 360 joypads.
I really hope that a few of you out there enjoy it, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Of course, as the game is out, I can't promise any major changes/updates, but any suggestions will be considered for our next game
