Picorinne Soft (Infinos)

Hey, just found these guys, thought I advertise; they're kinda new.

Picorinne Soft (ピコリンネソフ) are a couple of devs (RYO and サット (Satto)) who used to be called TEAM NO-PURO and トマト畑プロジェクト (Tomato Hata Project), with eight and three games respectively (they still have two of the Tomato ones here and here, they're not much, heh)... if anyone can find those, you'd be a lot better than Google!

After about six years of absence, they reformed under this name and released one of those no-Force-Bit-only R-Type clones called Infinos (click the big green button). Here's a video! It's kinda fun from what I've played, stage 3 tore me up. six stages at least, not sure about a loop. This game makes it really obvious that you should never ever die because you usually go very slow and individual speedups help very little; I'm sure you can recover from this or that spot though. Not surprising that a couple of months ago they released Infinos Extra Stage (click the こちら), a standalone level where you get exactly one life.

edit: Oh, should probably mention controls: everything's hardmapped to Arrow keys/d-pad for movement, Z/button 1 for shot (autofire), Back Space/button 8 for pause, Enter for fullscreen, and Esc for quit (prompt).

If you end up liking the game, you'll be pleased to know RYO (the STG half) is all fired up to do another; seems he's got two stages done so far. In the meantime, サット (the RPG half) is about to release a monster breeder called ディスクリーチャーズ (Disc Creatures), though that's something else. Have a blog and a Twitter.

They're taking their sweet time with Infinos 2 and Disc Creatures, but they did make a few things:

-Infinos v1.1. Same link as before.
-Infinos 0. Cute little FC-style version, even has an intro! Get that here.
