Re: I DID IT! Share your latest 1CCs/other triumphs here...
The leaderboard for the PC version of Ikaruga already has more great replays for download than anyone could possibly want, up to WR tier routes in at least Easy and Normal. I think it's worth of the (low) price just for those even if you end up playing some other version.
Re: I DID IT! Share your latest 1CCs/other triumphs here...
They're better since the game also uploads replays for the best individual stage scores from every player. Both those done during actual runs and in single stage play. In this regard it's easily the best port of any shooting game ever.

I see. Yeah, I get that feeling alright, where you master a game, and then you feel like you don't want to ever leave the game and forget what you learned from it (I feel that way similarly from playing Great Fairy Wars for a month), to where to where you just come back to it every now and then. That, and well, as they say, if you take a break for a bit, you might just find yourself getting better each time, or so that's what they say, of course ^^;! Yeah, Border Down looked pretty cool, and it's made by G.Rev, and well, I liked them a lot for Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta! (I’m close to beating it, just got to figure out the last boss), so yeah, I'll be looking into their other games at some point (In-fact, Under Defeat for the PS3 should arrive at my mail at some point very soon).
Interesting bits to hear about Ikaruga, it really shows there’s a lot more to the various versions of Ikaruga than what meets the eye, and that it’s not simply just an arcade port. I guess, when the time comes for me to go get Ikaruga, It’ll be me wanting either conquest mode (I do like those practice modes) or the slowdown (Built-in slowdown is quite nice to have). I have a Wii, so I probably don’t have to worry about using the Gamecube’s D-pad, I think

Hmm, at either case, yeah, since you mentioned that bit concerning Steam, I’ll be picking up the steam version for the leaderboards (In-fact, there’s an off chance I may just get it today/tomorrow/very soon, if I decide to put off another related plan) along with either the GC or DC (If I somehow get either one, whenever that happens), since that’s really good to see replays (That, and I do like using my DualShock 3 pad, lol. I use that thing for everything I play (PC and whatnot), except for the Xbox 360 and other console systems, of course). I’ll do more research into the various modes of Ikaruga when the time comes for me to go get it (It might be sooner than I think, since I may just start with the Steam version, actually. The more I think about it, the more likely I am to get it, lol), and I guess I can ask you for more questions, when they come. Thanks a lot, Blinge! That helped a lot!

Hey, that’s pretty good, Hagane! Yeah, I see you, from time to time, working on improving your scores in Kaikan, and well, hey, good to see it all worked out! You even beat Jaimers and Emuser even, so that’s got to count for something, for sure! Also, yeah, it’s been a while, since I last used keyboards, so yeah, very nice, indeed!Hagane wrote:Beat Kaikan. Easy compared to arcade games, but I'm happy since it's my first keyboard STG clear. There's still hope, even without a stick.

This is so true, it's the best port I've ever played. Just cleared Zanac Neo on Normal. I'd only played it on Vita and on a laggy flat screen. First time playing it on the Trinitron with my joystick and I got the clear. Incredible game. Super long though. Most fun I've had in awhile...
Re: I DID IT! Share your latest 1CCs/other triumphs here...
^ congrats! I (thought) I came close to clearing this a while back.I realised I wasn't as close as I thought! It's a great came but the length makes it such a mission to play...
Nice one though amdiggywhut!

Cleared Riverbed Soul Saver Lunatic. One I realized that the bomb glitch was costing me the clear, I grabbed the patch and cleared it with a couple lives in stock.
Want to get a video up on youtube, but every time I break out the capture program the framerate drops and the replay just looks really bad. I can at least move my focus to another game now.

Made it to 1-7 in ZG 2. 880,000. Normal difficulty. Comanche.
I can't believe how long it took me to try the Comanche.

You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Finally got to stage 5 in SDOJ v. 1.5 w/ Saya, Laser, No-Autobomb. Haven't even cleared it but it feels good. Maybe in a few more months. Maybe if I play it more than once or twice a week!

I just got back from Tokyo, mostly playing Darius as usual, trying to learn the all down V course, but kept getting wasted in the final stage, so no I Did It! there. But I picked up original gameboy Sagaia while I was there and I just cleared it blind. Actually a really fun game, much better than I expected.

Damn two blind clears in one day. Tried out my new copy of Shienryu Explosion, what a ridiculously easy game. Guess I'll keep this one in the relaxation pile.
Congrats on that, stage 3 Faintear is a bitch right? I absolutely love Triggerheart; one of my all time favorite shmups. That enemy grappling system is genius, make sure to try it out without auto-swing if you haven't already, it makes the experience that much better. To Far Away Times wrote:Thank you. Hey again everyone!
So yeah, as of a few hours ago or so, I finally managed to beat Perfect Cherry Blossom in lunatic mode for the 1st time ever!
This took long enough for me to get, I can say that much.
Perfect Cherry Blossom lunatic 1cc

This one I've been wanting for quite a while, like, since February. I've been on and off with this one, but now, finally, I have the 1st clear for Perfect Cherry Blossom, and with Marisa A to boot! (\^o^/) This run was rather hilarious, so to speak, but yeah, it actually worked out, haha, but I guess, what could you expect from a 1st lunatic 1cc of anything?
Anyhow, this makes PCB the 3rd Touhou game I've cleared in lunatic mode! ^^

Thanks, Jonst! Yeah, it feels pretty good, alright! Dude, when I got 1st lunatic 1cc of PCB last night, I jumped all over my room like crazy, not believing I finally got the 1st clear of PCB, lol! Yeah, I was pretty stoked alright, haha! I haven't that good about a simple clear for a while!Jonst wrote:Congrats purple! Feels great to a get clear you've worked especially hard for dosn't it? Thanks, Lilium! Yeah, actually, I am planning on doing an LNB of PCB at some point in the future, so yeah, definitely, but for now, I probably should work on clearing PCB lunatic on a consistent basis, improve on my strategies, find/come up with new ones, etc., and score a bit better, like, get to a score of least a billion scorepoints better (and maybe use less bombs and break less borders (And not breaking borders intentionally ever), and do a better job against Chen and Alice, lol) before I can get to that point, as well as scoring at the extra and phantasm stages. The NBB part, umm... we'll see, haha. I've heard that even the likes of Minogame and FreeGothitelle are having trouble getting that LNBNDNBB, so that's a longshot, at least, for now. That, and I should go get that LNB for GFW C-2 already, like I mentioned I would.Lilium wrote:Good job.

Re: I DID IT! Share your latest 1CCs/other triumphs here...
I just 1cc'd Spriggan tonight.
Spriggan is probably one of the easier 1CCs out there. I was able to 1CC the game on my sixth attempt and had six(!) lives remaining. Some of you shmup pros could do it much faster I'm sure. But I think this makes for a great beginner shmup. The real reason I wanted to post this though was to talk abit about the game itself. I'm a huge fan of M.U.S.H.A., and wondered why there was never a sequel. I played Robo Aleste on the Sega CD and it didn't grab me the way M.U.S.H.A. did. I figured I'd try out some new games today and kinda stumbled onto Spriggan. I was hooked from the very first credit. The visuals, the music, the pacing, that "aggressive" Thunderforce/M.U.S.H.A. feel... Mah god, it's the M.U.S.H.A. 2 I've always wanted. I just wanted to get the word out there for those who haven't played it. I figure it isn't the most well known game out there. Go check it out. I highly recommend it.

Ikaruga 1 coin clear and 20m, long time coming, way too long time coming.

I would take me another 100 runs to figure out the Stonelike without a practice mode, so there was no other way but to go in with x5 lives and just

Congrats ciox! Ikaruga is one game I'll never have the patience to clear.

Not a 1cc, but I decided to try a full run of Mars Matrix on a whim a bit earlier, and in spite of dying in each of stages 2 and 3, I ended up getting over 2,000,000 experience for the first time. Lost my final life against the third car of the stage 5 boss (fuck that dude!). Also would have gotten much higher if I hadn't died mid stage 5. Pretty crazy stuff.

I got to evacaneer yesterday, last life, last bomb.Today was a bit better, still tired as hell but pushed on with some practice...got there again last life and 3 bombs,I panic bombed just to see how far it would take me.I got some stupid deaths in stage 5,if I hadn't lost those lives, who knows? I might of pulled of the clear tonight...
