[Bug Fixes]
Gameplay stability is improved.
[New Features]
Clearing the ninth layer in the Labyrinth of Chaos unlocks a new "Ultimate" difficulty level. This difficulty can be selected at the Temple.
When in Ultimate difficulty, a new randomly generated dungeon named the "Tower of Mirages" is added.
Ultimate difficulty raises the level cap from LV 99 to LV 255.
Item shortcuts can now be assigned and used separately by holding L1 and the Up directional button.
Damage values can now be displayed as a running total instead of per-hit.
To help increase player character visibility, characters can be shown with transparencies when they are on top of one another. This feature is available in the Options menu and can be toggled on or off.
Save files that have cleared Story mode can skip the first quests leading to the Talisman collection when creating a new character.
Guild Quests that have already been cleared may now be skipped in subsequent playthroughs.
[Feature Modifications]
Character class skills have received a number of adjustments.
NPC behavior has been adjusted.
Rules and effects regarding equipment, items, and skills in the Colosseum have been adjusted.
Other tuning and minor improvements to various gameplay elements have been made.

Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
Yet another patch/update, though supposedly the last one:
Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
Those all sound great. I need to go back to this game and pick one character to try to take through the 'whole game' (IE 255 levels)!

Anyone here still play or willing to play this?
Really late to the party but I got this with a PSVita recently and have played and liked it quite a lot. Got myself to Ultimate difficulty and I have to say the regular levels are really tough, and I've only managed to clear few of them so far. Would be awesome to get some people to play those with, or alternatively Inferno levels if you need to level or gear up. My PSN is LtC-_ so add me if you want to play

Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
I've been playing this off and on since I got it at release. Just finished session of play, so I'm taking a break again. Been raising all my chars to Ultimate difficulty, so I can delete all the <L99 gear from my armory. Just have the Wizard and Sorceress to go now.LtC wrote:Anyone here still play or willing to play this?

Ultimate Difficulty Story levels are the toughest challenges you will see until you start reaching the 1000+ levels in the Tower of Mysteries. You are actually intended to complete LoC to power up your Seal of the Conquerer, and farm for good gear in early/mid ToM before completing the ultimate difficulty story bosses. (And then just playing ToM until you get tired of it or a sequel comes out or something....)
Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
Really? I think I cleared LoC to around 15 before moving on to ultimate stuff and I'm already at floor 26 on ToM. Is it actually worth going back and clearing LoC as far as I can? How much does the seal power up with each floor clear?PainAmplifier wrote: You are actually intended to complete LoC to power up your Seal of the Conquerer, and farm for good gear in early/mid ToM before completing the ultimate difficulty story bosses. Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
I can't find the exact per floor bonus, but at L99 the boost is reported to be:LtC wrote:Really? 25% attack
25% defense
25% critical (wasnt confirmed if it was rate or dmg)
25% reduce mp consumption
So it is very worth while to complete the LoC and keep a Seal in your Bags.
My Amazon is my highest charater at about L122 and she's in the 30's in both LoC and ToM. LoC difficulty seems to go up faster, but loot is lower quality. So I tend to switch back and forth every so often for either gear or to boost the Seal a bit more.
Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
Alright, got to 27 on LoC, but I do have to say it's a bit grindy. Also managed to get all the ultimate B stages done with a good party earlier. Now I'm trying to beat the ancient dragon but I can only take it down to 40% HP or so with NPC party before the NPCs die and I'm stuck alone with the dragon and 3 skeletons constantly (literally) shooting me with crossbows. It seems to be very, very hard to protect the cliffs on the side from the dragon just by myself as well. Would be mighty cool if you or someone else could lend me a hand with it. I'm Lv121 myself now with my elf.PainAmplifier wrote:I can't find the exact per floor bonus, but at L99 the boost is reported to be:LtC wrote:Really? Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
The Ultimate enemies are L255. So unless you have some good co-op players, your probably not going to be able to clear the Ancient Dragon with just NPCs right now. (Char level vs enemy level *does* make a big difference.)LtC wrote:Alright, got to 27 on LoC, but I do have to say it's a bit grindy. LoC *IS* grindy, but it's worth the Seal bonus fully powered up if you are going for the Ultimate AD. You may also want to do some additional ToM levels for better gear if you didn't fully gear up when clearing the Ult B levels. (Ult loot being a bit better than ToM until *much* later.)
Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
I doubt I'm getting much better than this against the dragon without some special skill boosting gear:PainAmplifier wrote:The Ultimate enemies are L255. What's with the character level making big difference? I don't see stats going up too much with each level up. Does the damage and damage taken scale based on the level difference or something?

Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
Yes, there is some damage scaling based on level. (No, I don't know the exact formula). Stats will go up and make a difference as well, but it's nowhere near as big as the difference based on level.LtC wrote: What's with the character level making big difference? I've personally seen the difference in Infernal when trying to defeat the Kraken with my elf. Simply leveling up 6 levels with the same gear made a huge difference in my damage output. (91 to 97)

If you have PS Plus, can access the US PSN store and haven't tried Dragon's Crown, it's one of next month's freebies for subscribers.

Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
Hey guys....
I put Dragon's Crown down a long while back, just due to being fried on long ass games. Started playing NES games and whatnot.
Well, I'm getting ready to hop back into it, but there's a couple of questions I have about it.
I was a little more than halfway through Hard Mode, when I took a break. I am not sure what is after that (inform me please). But I do know that there is now an Ultimate Difficulty.
I am not looking forward to playing through the game over and over to unlock this mode, but you do what you gotta do.
Now, I've been soloing the game, as I feel the team stuff makes the game WAY too easy. The game is still a bit too easy for me, even on Hard.
Will Ultimate Difficulty kick my ass? Will I have to use a team, or can I still solo it? Will I be able to grind easily, and then beat the hell out of this mode?
I've read that the enemies have different attacks and stuff like that.
So basically, is Ultimate Difficulty where it's at for the more hardcore gamer, and does it deliver?
This game has a lot going for it. It sucks that it makes you have to play the game over and over to unlock the modes. Oh well, modern gaming.

Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware)
It's better to think of the extra difficulty settings as MMORPG-style level cap boosts.
