Trust me I'd loved to have paid for it and have it now.

my collection is actually like an abyss where almost nothing escapes
one day I might open the gates when I run into a financial mess c:

sucks you guys are having issues still, but it's hard not to find the situation humorous. I thought play-asia was bad, but nin-nin looks like the next big contender.

not to derail the thread, but I've had a few bad experiences that I briefly mentioned itt.

and lets not forget the whole play-asia mushihimesama ver 1.5 bonus dlc 1.01 code ordeal which is sorta similar to what you guys are going through right now with the bonus discs.

Received a new, functional but quite visibly scratched 360 game disc from them recently.
It's Microsoft's shitty boxes fault though, the center 'clip' couldn't handle hold the disc firm enough.

Well at least they ship what you buy for real...

Got my 27€ back from nin-nin by btw. Took them a while. Quite a while.

nah - they don't keep their stock lists up to date. On numerous occasions they've had to refund me and change the stock status to "out of print" for items I've "bought" from their website.

preordering newer items from them typically work out with the exception of the futari dlc code and the demon's souls asian version stock on release day.

But did you ever receive a made-up shipping notice from play-asia ?

It's important to draw a line between businesses that suck but still play by the rules, and total amateurs.

When you're a professional seller/business, displaying outdated stock figures is a bad thing, yes, okay... but telling your customer you've already shipped the item when you actually never did, is much, MUCH worse.
Awful communication, extremely slow to give a full refund, unreliable information, ignorance of some of the most basic rules (asking for additional money after the sale: strictly forbidden like...everywhere in the world)
-> that's nin-nin.

noep, but they waited till release day of the asian version of Demon's Souls to let me know that they weren't going to have enough copies to ship my order even though I had it preordered over a month in advance.

did you receive your kan collection whether it be complete or incomplete? because I received nothing (I did get my refund) and it took me an additional 3 weeks to get my copy when I was planning on having it around the time of release.

Nope never received anything.
They said they shipped, then about 23 days later cancelled my order even though they confirmed a couple of times the package was on the way.
From the day I preordered until I finally got a full refund almost three months have passed, including 23 days of useless waiting and about another 20 days of bitter communication battle.

Would they have cared to warn me they couldn't fulfill my order right when they realized they weren't going to have enough stock, with a full refund following soon after, I wouldn't have minded this much.

Nope I don't give a crap about the box now, instead I've ordered the single DLC disc of the first 'collection' box (found a seller in Japan, I should receive it soon).

Used to own most major titles but I only have ESPII & Ketsui left. The collection box was the perfect opportunity to rebuild my Cave 360 library, just got to redo it one-by-one then. But frankly I was mostly interested in the DLC disc for all those I've missed in the past, so I'm fine (well I'll be when I get my hands on it for real next week).

It will be worthless when Cave supersede it with something better.

Do you think they'll release yet another anthology/collection box specifically for the Xbox 360? If so, I agree the value that this "Kan" box would take a hit.

If you bought this as an investment you're mental. Cave game recycling is far, far from having reached its zenith, and will continue even after the company is defunct.

You can expect several more of these in a superior format.

I got it because I was just getting into the 360 so I didn't have any games yet. So, no, not an inve$tment as I intend to play and keep the games.

That being said, I've always been interested in the relative value of items in my hobby of choice (baseball cards when I was a kid/early teen, (retro) video games now. It's fun to speculate which or which game will end up being worth a ton (e.g. Little Samson), which will lose it's value (e.g. PS2 Marvel vs. Capcom 2), etc.

What are you expecting them to include tho? Hello Kitty - Puzzle Chains and Donpachin?

Guwange on disc, Ibara Kuro, DLC as regular options on respective discs, and packaging that doesn't look like it's part of a save the trees recycling campaign - for a start.

better than shelling out money for individual releases when you can buy it as part of a collection at a cheaper price as long as your vendor doesn't fuck up your order. many of the titles are still priced pretty high individually.. even mmp/ps "cave the best" version is pushing back up to $70 alone which is 1/6th of the cost of the collection.

I already own all the cave ports for 360 so I can care less about the collection (which is why I didn't buy it), but if I wanted to put the effort in (I don't) I probably could've sold all my standalone releases, bought the collection, and still walked away with cash in pocket.

Oh more games would be great, but as someone else arleady implied: not gonna happen for the X360 so the "investment" perspective will take a heavier money throwing.

I also think this is it for CAVE on the 360. No more milking that tit at least. But going by their record, Xbone will be milked too, although I doubt any graphical improvements at all being implemented. Yet, Skykid is probably right on about ibara kuro be added to entice.

I disagree about the collection's worth however. No matter how many times the dlc disc(s) gets passed around or if it gets repackaged or not for XboxOne, prices should keep rising on this bad boy IMO(based on the titles included vs. individual pricing considerations). ....But alas, I never was a collector.

Shameful plug: The fact that I have two new packages ready to ship out to a high baller near you, just means I don't play ports/pale reflections of the originals.

CAVE is now dead to me. Unless they create a new IP on the XBoxONe, rehashing their "legacy" once again on the One, will prove this fact. They have nothing new to offer IMO.

What trend are you basing that on. 99% of everything Cave has produced has fallen in value after its initial rise - usually because they found a way to diminish its rarity.

On the bright side, (regarding the whoring) it has fueled their survival with a dying Japanese Arcade market while McDonaldizing
its company through home console and phone apps. Reproduced on the Xbone, prices should be similar, quality the exact same, and deter people just by the fact that they have to buy a low tier pc/x box to run the same thing as the 360 version. I'm confident that the collection, if anything, will keep its value in spite of a limited produced xbone run or xbone digital download offerings of the collection. It's an exceptional value.

I must say I look forward to an Xbox One release as new achievements would give me a reason to revisit some of these games.

Games like Guwange would also now have 1000 achievement points on Xbox One instead of 200.

I can also see several instances where "Xbox Record That" would come in handy.

Snapping videos of someone else playing and seeing their strategies side by side might be helpful as well.
