Sony Trinitron crackling when shutting down

My Sony Trinitron tends to make this crackling almost sizzling sound when I turn it off. It does this for about 10 seconds or so. It does not do this when the TV is on and running.
I was worried something was frying inside, but it doesn't do it while running, so that doesn't seem likely.
Is this normal?

Any ideas?

All the ones I've had do this. I assume it's just discharging the CRT or some other high voltage part.
