Hello, sorry for reviving a month old post, but I noticed that you never received a response to your questions.

Flame Zapper Kotsujin uses a driver exclusive to that game, so it should have been included in the game itself. There are no external DOS drivers that you need. Try making sure that the sound card works by running a game that utilizes a different sound driver, such as the Touhou demos (They have a driver built-into the games). This will determine whether the problem resides in Kotsujin's driver or in the card itself.

Regarding the DC in, the manual states that it uses 12 volts DC in. I don't really know whether it is required or not.

Regarding the models of the PC-9821 with built-in YM2608, the following have it built-in:

A-Mate: Ae/As/Ap/As2/3/Ap2/3/Af/An
98Multi: Ce/2/Cs2
CanBe: Built-in CanBeSound (OPNA-compatible)
Cereb: OPNA-compatible

Be sure to set the DIP switches to their proper positions on the actual sound card. The switches are described in the manual:

Also, here is a list of PC-9821 computers that are compatible with the sound card:

Hope this helps! :D
