The collective pant-shitting once they lost Neymar was truly embarrassing and unprofessional. Players like Firmino and Coutinho are probably sitting at home wondering why they weren't called up.

Great first half. Edge of your seat business.

Like I said, if Germany claim this it won't be easy. Argentina are the first difficult team they've had to play in the entire tournament.

Germany have been let off twice already, first by Higuain missing a sitter, and then being offside after a brilliant counterattack.
They came close though just before the half ended, so it's still anyone's game at the moment.

I can't believe Higuain didn't stick that in the net. One player to beat and it was a done deal. :palm:

What's with the Sagat impressions this World Cup? Neuer could have knocked Higuain out with that one.

Extra time is played at breakneck speed so far, great stuff.
If it goes to penalties I'll be tuning out, though, lol.

Congratulations to Germany! The best team won it. :>
I would have loved to have seen Messi win a World Cup but it was not to be this time.

Amazing goal. Argentina scuppered far too many opportunities, and paid for it.

That's football!

6am here, I'm off to bed.

Loads of Japanese artists on Twitter have been posting pictures of Bismarck from Kantai Collection in response, haha.

Can't argue with that, well deserved and a beauty of a goal from Götze.

Messi getting the golden ball! The fuck is that all about? Not even Argentina's best player (Masche looking every bit the real captain of that side). The faint whiff of flat-track bully just wont go away IMO.

He looked knackered for the majority of the tournament. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out later that he was playing on painkilling injections or something.

Most talented attacking player in the world, biggest game of them all, doesn't get a shot on target. Not sure that's good enough.
