I just don't buy any Sony products anymore, and don't plan to anytime soon, no matter how many PS2 exclusive games I miss for it. They have a long history of customer abuse across a number of divisions throughout their company that cause me to avoid giving them any money.

Sony has finally gotten its act together after years of abusing its loyal MD users. But not because of their voice and numerous petitions and suggestions. Two things had to happen: The Ipod trouncing the Walkman as the portable player of choice and a foreigner coming to tell the internal divisions of Sony (which competed with each other rather than cooperate and share ideas) how to work better.

Case in point: the new Hi-MiniDiscs. One division created the recorders, and another separate, completely different division created the software. You could only "check out" your converted files (Had to convert to their proprietary format ATRAC @132kbps, which sucks when compared to the original real time ATRAC @ 292) only three times, then you had to check them in. Did you lose your disc? Sorry, you're screwed, because even though it's your music, their DRM paranoia had them encrypting and locking the tracks as if they were the access codes for Metal Gear's nuke. Oh, and your own recordings? It was one upload, and ONE UPLOAD ONLY, BITCH. If your uploading to your computer got screwed, guess what? Welcome to Fuxx0rVille. Population, you.

As soon as the Ipod and I-tunes hit Japan, we see a new SonicStage with unlimited downloads, unlimited uploads, and the ability to convert your uploaded personal recordings to regular WAVs, no DRM, no questions asked. And two new kickass bitrates, up to 352 Kbps. But again, the Ipod and Itunes had to start eating away at their market for this to happen. And don't get me started on their online music store. Music playable only on Sony devices. Whoo-hoo. (Not)

If this, and Krazy Kutaragi with that arrogant speech (What? How do you dare to question the placing of the gate in my home? If I want the gate on the roof, it has to go on the roof, you ungrateful bitches!), and so many other proven tales of horror about Sony are not enough proof of their lack of caring for their customers, then dress me in a polka-dot dress and call me Lola.

Oh, and there's the XCP fiasco, too. "Most people don't know what a rootkit is, so why should they worry about it?" God forbid that man ever works with any health organization, in this age of AIDS and other deadly diseases.

90 days warranty on the labor on your TV. It used to be one year on the workmanship AND parts before this. Now you pay for the labor after the initial 90 days. Fudge. My BFG Tech GeForce card has a lifetime warranty. Lifetime. Weren't Sony's products supposed to be higher quality than most american brands?

I find it hilarious that people have such negative vibe towards a company.

If you know all this stuff, then why bitch about it. Just don't buy it.

I'm sure Apple, Panasonic, RCA, Mitsibushi, Samsung, Sharp, Pioneer and others would like to have your money too.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Exactly, thank you.

*sighs* I guess if I want another XBOX, I'll just have to take my chances then. If everyone's so sick of hearing about Sony on this thread, and think game store employees are all so retarted, why can't one of you just address my concerns?

What concern? Xbox consoles not working? Truth be told, you're one of the first people I've heard of having this problem recently. My friend who mods Xbox consoles has only ever encountered a couple with bad drives, one of those being mine, but this was after 4 years and 3 or 4 sloppy moves and a poorly ventilated dorm room and being messed with by a 3 year old. And mine was a launch Xbox at that.

Early on people had a lot of problems with certain drives, but Microsoft fixed that problem. You mentioned Serious Sam: Newsflash! The first batch of Serious Sam games were defective! They would freeze up and load incredibly slowly. This was addressed when the game came out.

So in conclusion, I have no fucking clue what your "concerns" are, since the only point at which I notice you addressing some concerns are wedged in a post where you're doing your mad defending Sony saviour thingy. As for the 360, around 2% are defective, and Microsoft will overnight you and box and pay for it to be overnighted back to them and then overnight it right back to you if it is defective. Microsoft almost up there with Nintendo on the customer service end, so I have no idea why you're so nervous about whatever the hell you're being nervous about.

Well thanks for the info on the Serious Sam thing-I never heard of that!

But as far as the rest goes, chill out! If you can rip on Sony, I can darn well defend them! I never said I had any concerns about the durability of the 360, or Microsoft customer serivce, nor was I the first one to even bring up Sony in this thread.

Whatever, I'm through discussing Sony, alright? I had no clue about the Serious Sam thing, so thanks again for pointing that out. I thought that I had gotten an XBOX with a bad drive.

So back OT: I wonder if After Burner 360 will be a JP-only release for the 360? If so, I'd definately be on board, and I think it would help sell the system in Japan, given Sega's popularity over there.

And in the long run, US purchases of JP 360's will definately help Microsoft over in Asia, IMO.
