the fuck ?? :(
Same thing happened to me when I patched. Luckily, all my Steam Leaderboard scores are still intact, so if I need to reference any of my PB's then they're right there. A minor setback, but at least my play data is intact.
Have you checked the Steam Leaderboards? It would be a shame if your scores on there were wiped, too.
Isn't there any save file you can backup in the game folder?

More slowbeef fun. He accidentally finds that you can play the TLB in training mode, and is overwhelmed (in the happy way) by how awesome it is!

I love his enthusiasm. It's so infectious! And you can see him getting better as he plays!

I am aware that Diabolos(the Stage 4 boss)'s second phase with the reloading sidearms can be milked for lots of break rate and points. However, every so often after a sidearm is destroyed, instead of reloading quickly the boss waits awhile before reloading. Does anyone know if this longer reload delay follows a deterministic pattern or is it completely random?

In fact, World Ignition's menus and loading times are smoother and more responsive in general which is a big plus for the game. Yotsubane's improvements of even small details like this with every new version of the game is one reason why I keep coming back to it.

Yeah, Yotsubane seems pretty dedicated to his fans, and his game. I appreciate that about him.

Yesterday I was practicing my weak points in crimzon clover. And was just trying to NMNB stage 3. I finally managed to do it. I always seem to bomb after the snakes, keep getting caved in by bullets. Also at the end of the level with those two ships that pop up. If I don't have a break saved up, I'm forced to bomb too. Is it even possible to survive when those two are on screen. I just point blank them as soon as I see them. But those little popcorn coming out the side some times push me back, with their little purple shots.

There are three lock-on points on those ships. If you take out the left and right lock-on points, you'll stop the stream of purple spread bullets. Taking out at least one of those makes the fight a lot easier. Personally I make sure that I'm in break mode/db mode at that part because those things are worth loads of points; since you're bombing through the section before and have no gauge for this, I suggest the following:
1.) Play the first ship aggressively, take out the two side lock-on points as you try to quick-kill it.
2.) Take your time on the second ship so you don't have to deal with the red enemies before fighting Maelstrom.
You do NOT want to deal with both of those ships at once, that's for sure.

Yeah, it seems you really have to get rid of atleast one, taking on both is too hazardous.

It's strange but i find stage 4 much easier than stage 3. I can NMNB stage 4 with more consistency than stage 3. Stage 4 however has a much harder boss than stage 3. I'm having trouble figuring out it's randomness. Some times it fills the screen with bullets immedietly, and at other times it doesn't. And that very last pattern it does is very annoying; the one where it shoots out those yellow lasers.

Omg this stage 4 boss is giving me hell -_-

Does anyone know how this screen triggered? I've only ever seen it once, today:

I know the name is probably just grabbed from Steam, but is there some requirement for seeing that flavor text?

I've seen it a bunch of times - there are different messages too. Some of them make no sense! My main guess is that it's triggered (semi)randomly, but you have to have reached that point of the game without continuing. Maybe.

had it a few times, completly random, messages are different all the time.

at first I thought you need to have 500.000 stars, but it happened many time i had it with a lower stars number, then I thought it was a no life, but a friend of mine who dies a lot, had it too (yeah, I just dont die  )

so now I have no guess how and why, it's just there...

You see it if you have not continued yet and it picks a message at random.
It's just flavour to get you hyped up.

it's not constant, I never continue and clear the game all the time, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not, so it's not a no miss thing, not a score thing, not a stars number thing, not a continue thing..

it's a random thing

Finally had some time and money to invest in this. Played one game on novice (40m points somewhere in stage 2). Got an emergency rabbit sitting callout from a friend ending my first sitting. Grr.

Needless to say I'm keen to try the normal mode. Break mechanics are fun. I assume it's easier to double break on modes above novice. First impression is very encouraging.

It's pretty easy to double break in any mode once you get a handle on how break generation works. To generate break gauge as quickly as possible, get a max lock multiplier and then point blank enemies. The higher the multiplier is and the closer you are, the faster the gauge fills.

Double breaking is a crucial part of the game's scoring system, so it is assumed that you will use it as often as possible.

Does the the small multiplier actually have any impact on how fast the gauge fills? As far as I know it only increases the rate at which you get the big multiplier and it also works as a score multiplier.

Point blanking=more break, killing enemies with lock fills both primary and secondary gauge(at least it does in Unlimited, it should in other modes too and more cancelled bullets=more gauge) and that's it I believe. Secondary gauge fills after you fill the primary one if you never lock.
Locking the TLB while it's invincible also causes it to release counter lasers which are worth a lot of gauge, so just spam laser repeatedly point blank at him while invincible.

I am 99% certain that charging is faster if you have a higher multiplier. Compare break generation at 12.8x multiplier compared to no multiplier and I think you'll see a difference.

This. 3x DBM in stage one in Original wouldn't be possible otherwise.
This was also the case in the vanilla version, as well, though in World Ignition it has a much greater effect.

I just tested killing the final enemies before the st3 boss in practice with no multiplier active and a x12.8 and saw no difference, on both Original and Unlimited

unless you mean something else, like killing enemies with a higher lock count lock shot

I played this quite a bit yesterday and am having tons of fun with it. I feel driven to get just a little bit farther each time and it's addictive as heck.

One thing though. When I went to play today, my buttons were set back to their defaults and all the medals I had earned were gone. My scores and replays were still there, however. Is this a glitch or something? I am really hoping this game isn't buggy like that because it would be a darned shame.

Out of curiosity, how are you exiting out of the game? According to the bug thread, not going to the in-game prompt to causes the game not to save that session (as far as medals and achievements go. I've had similar cases trying to use the Esc key to exit out of the game. At least, I suspect that might be what you are doing.

Hm, that may be it. As I recall I had to close the game out via ctrl+alt+del because I got forzen out of it somehow. Thanks for the information, I'll have to keep an eye out. It did save my achieves that I got though, so maybe it's just with the medals.

New patch incoming. It fixes controller issues and bugs. This update let's you correctly configure keyboard controls. It fixes replay bugs, but one of the fixes makes old replays obsolete in the new version. You gotta use a dedicated player to view them.
