Hey, would anybody be interested if I started a high score board for X68000 doujin games?

I'm thinking of Illumination Laser and Hatenkou, but if there are others that people would want to play, I could add them too. I wouldn't want to be the only score on the boards though, that'd be weird. Seems like it would be nice to have in general though.

What do you guys think?

How long is Space Invaders Infinity Gene? I saw a video on YouTube that's 2 hours and 40 minutes long, and though the player uses multiple credits, it seems to be a single run.

5 stages with 6 sections each.

I managed to 1CC the game and recall it was a long credit, but 2h40min is too much.
I believe it clocked at one hour or something around that.

Thanks! It was hard to believe a non-looping shooter would be longer than two loops of Gradius V.

Yeah, a full 1cc run in Infinity Gene lasts about 70-80 minutes. The guy in the video probably credit-fed a lot if it lasted almost 3 hours.

What are the DOJ and DFK loop requirements in the mobile ports? Just a basic 1cc on Hard or Hell? I cleared Hell on DOJ with a shit ton of bombs and deaths and still got the loop, so the requirements are obviously way lower.

I also broke down and turned auto bomb on for all my mobile shmups. It's not arcade authentic but I find it frustrating playing on the bus and having a good run ruined because I suddenly get jostled and my thumb slides just a touch too far. I suppose this makes me a wuss? :p

How do you switch from Kakusei to Zetsushikai without disabling the Kakusei in ESPGaluda II? I've seen players acquire gold while in Kakusei, then switch immediately to Zetsushikai.

EDIT: I think I figured this out. I simply have to hold the "transform button" from the start and it will automatically switch to Zetsushikai once I have at least one Gold, right?

Do the wonder price versions of Eschatos and Ginga Force have the same game content on disc as the standard and wonder pack releases? I canceled my order of the wonder pack yesterday for the two wonder price releases instead, saving $20. Are both wonder price releases region free? Does wonder price eschatos still come with a soundtrack disc?

Yes, they're region free. No, there is no soundtrack CD.

Exactly correct - if you're holding down the kakusei button, you'll automatically go into Zetsushikai if you get gold. For that first big scoring opportunity in stage 1, you go into kakusei with as many gems built up, get your first gold cancels to be as big as possible and hope the gold holds out long enough to get good cancelling from Zetsushikai. It's better on resources than switching out of kakusei and back into Zetsushikai, but it's much trickier due to the timing (I've gotten the first extend in stage 1 by trying to mimic high scoring runs, but I'm never good enough to get both extends in stage 1).

I wonder what playing shmups do for your eye health. Also, I bet they improve concentration and meditative states, you really need to have your mind undercontrol for a straight 20mins to get your clear.

What is the easiest way to install the Black Label DLC of Dodonpachi Resurrection (Deluxe Edition) outside of Europe (preferably without having to purchase 800 Xbox Live points twice on Play Asia)?

Assuming the process hasn't changed, this is what I did a couple years back:

1) Create a EU Xbox Live account. Google will help you here.
2) Acquire EU Xbox currency and redeem the code on your EU account. (For me, I had a friend in the UK buy a retail card and send me the code, but you can probably do this online somewhere.)
3) Buy the DLC on your EU account.

As long as the EU account is on your Xbox, you can play the DLC from your normal account.

Finally scored a PS2 copy of DOJ last night.

Played Death Label.

Whoa.

The absurdity of it kind of makes me want to try and clear the first loop. Will the pursuit of a simple 1-ALL drive me into the depths of madness? Is it reasonably doable? (I'm not even considering the 2-ALL)

Also on that note: What kind of mode is death label? Every video I see labeled as death label, it's always a 1 loop, quick suped up boss rush. Yet I hear people talk about loops and mention stages and etc. Am I searching the wrong tags or something?

The 1st loop probably isn't all that hard, especially with Shotia(who doesn't get her bombs absorbed like the other types so you can bomb your way to hibachi) but the 2nd loop gives you no hypers at the beginning of every stage and you have only 1 life for the whole thing

The reason why you thought it was only one loop is because almost no one records the first loop because it gives you a full hyper at the start of each boss fight and with full hyper + bombs you just annihilate the boss. You have to fight double hibachi in both loops, but it's a bit anticlimactic if you start off the video with the hardest part of the death label. Basically, the first loop exists to let you practice for the insane second loop.

Yeah I played it a bit last night with Exy and because her bombs aren't absorbed it's actually pretty easy to just brute force your way through everything. Just spamming I was able to get to at least stage 4 easily every time. So basically the first loop is super hard, except it isn't really since you can cheese through.

The idea is you bomb to the part you need to practice and practice it, I think. Because why give the player a level select?

Do any of the Crimson Clover versions let you practice the TLB?
