I was extremely skeptical when I saw the footages; looks like my suspicions were confirmed. Well, at least we still have UNiB and Xrd this year.

Ha, agreed. I'd replace "fighter" with just "game" though.

There's not a lot of freedom in what you can do, and the characters only have a few uninteresting moves. Compared to other combo heavy "anime" fighters, this one is extremely mediocre.
I kind of figured this. I looks very "stiff", and rigid, judging by the videos.

I don't know. Most of the people I've heard criticize this game have said things similar to what was written above.

To be honest it isn't stiff at all, it's actually extremely smooth. It's just that it feels like there's no variety in what you can do with the system, and no special moves that can be used in interesting ways to set up or control certain situations. Keep in mind I didn't spend enough time with it to learn all the details, but what it feels like is just spamming pokes until you get a clean hit and following it with the same combo ad infinitum. No variety, and every match I spectated also gave me the same feeling.

French Bread obviously saw the Dengeki fighter as nothing more than a contractual obligation and an annoyance that diverted their time and resources from UNIB. There doesn't really seem to be any care put into it, it's just a product to sell. There is a high chance that we would have already seen UNIB on PS3 many months ago if not for this game.

Just for the heck of it, Selvaria from Valkyria Chronicles is dropping by for the home port, with Alicia as a support character.
