That moment when, after completely disassembling, washing most of, repasting, reassembling, and beep code-smashing (didn't seat the memory properly right away) a terrible old cheapo HP SFF PC, IT'S ALIIIIVEE!! Never thought I'd be so damn happy to see the Windows boot screen. Strange gamma issue, though, which may well be the monitor caps going bad. Gotta try a different PC to check. There also seem to be a couple loose wires, strange.

If you're gonna get a computer for your kitchen, even a far corner of it, consider a passively cooled machine or at least one without three fans, yikes. Intel's NUC line seems pretty good.

I'm glad I got the lion's share of my collecting done years back, but it's not so much the prices as the thought of Neo Geo AES-style high end bootlegging that'd bother me now(ish).
